Before I booked this hotel I went through and read the reviews and honestly was a little skeptical reading some of the negative ones. I knew I had to keep an open mind because I felt this hotel was being unfarily reviewed by people who thought they were checking into a hotel built in 2012. We stayed for 2 days...

This was the creepiest hotel I have ever spent a night in (and I was forced to spend two nights there). It looks like they have not touched the rooms since 1970 or so, so everything is old and banged-up. The whole place smells musty and feels dirty - I was honestly afraid to walk on the carpet with my...

I have stayed at the Hotel Fort des Moines for two nights each spring for many years but this was probably my last. First the positives: It is located on the sky-way system which makes for convenient access to various meeting and sports venues. The staff is very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The beds are comfortable. Free WiFi...

Never have I ever stayed at such an awful hotel. I travel regularly for business so i have plenty to compare to. The rooms are extremely outdated, the carpet, paint and bathroom has not been touched in decades. Thankfully I travel with flip flops so I didn't have to touch the carpet or tile. Not to mention the shower head...

If you don't mind dirty carpet, caulk that has dirt ground in it, dirty windows that can't open and no full length to get dressed with, This will be the ticket!! The toliet has no lid, and has the flushing handle that looks like that of a toliet in Target. Gee Whiz!
I wouldn't suggest it, spend a little more...

Stayed here last weekend, was a surprise trip from my girlfriend (we are older and I have done business travel for years so I do have something to compare to). The parking was easy to find although you had to pay, even on the weekends and no signs to the free lots. Main floor was really nice, although we did...

I stayed a the Hotel Fort des Moines due to the reasonable rate, however upon entry into the lobby, I was instantly satisfyed, as I enjoy, respect, appreciate and relish in the historic value of buildings. I have read some of the reviews, and if you are looking for a cookie cutter hotel, this is not it! . The Hotel...
