The Lake Life is fun! The Moors Resort was not. The accommodations, however, were sub-par, with cracks in the tile floors, stained carpets, and generally poor maintenance. The showers were in a state of disrepair, with the plumbing coming loos from the inner wall. The Internet access was abysmal. You can occasionally access it from you cellular network, and the wifi network (if you could ever access it) imitated dial up. The food (Ralph's) was middle of the road. The fish and cheeseburgers were good, but the service was extremely poor, with an inexperienced wait staff. One wait for food over the holiday weekend was +90 minutes, so beware. (This was after waiting an hour to get a table for 7). Finally, the beds were the worst. Little to no support means your 5 inch mattress compacts down to 2 inches when it's time to relax and sleep. My wife and I managed to pull in a couple of hours of sleep a night, which we considered amazing due to the level of discomfort. All things considered, I suggest the owners invest in significant upgrades. We would pay more for comfort and convenience. The Moors Resort woefully now lacks both. We have been guests here for the last 7 years...

We did not stay on the resort however we utilized many of its amenities. We dined at Ralph’s which was delicious. We had a group of 13 and we were all pleased at the speed of being seated as well as being served our meals. We also played mini golf, enjoyed the beach, the playground, and utilized the marina. We tried to rent a boat however the day before our rental, they had to cancel on us due to an issue with the boat. They offered another boat but since it was not the one we wanted, we got a refund and went elsewhere. We were pleased with all they had to offer

We wanted a half-day pontoon and found Moors to be the perfect place to go. They were nearby, reasonably priced (particularly in the off season) well-stocked, and staffed with a nice bunch of friendly, helpful and professional staff. The marina shop is well stocked with a variety of items, including fresh pizza for the trip and they did not mind if you didn't have a lot of experience - helpful on the way out to the lake and upon our return. Then Ralph's Restaurant was there with a great menu and staff when we returned. We plan to be back soon.

I really like this resort and have stayed here before, but this will be my last time. First the good...it's well located and has an on-site marina and restaurant, both a positive. Now the bad...they claim to have WiFi but in the cabins it was non-existant! In todays world, if you don't have WiFi, you aren't competitive. Yes, I came to fish and relax, but I have responsibilities that require staying in contact.

First, we really enjoyed our 5-day stay at The Moors. Lots to do without ever leaving the grounds. We had our 5-year old granddaughter with us and by and large she was never bored. Free miniature golf. Playset parks. Golf cart rides. Very nice pool. She had a ball! The grounds are well maintained and attractive. It’s a busy place, with lots of boats of all sizes coming and going. We rented a pontoon boat for 2 full days. We like to pull up into the bays to swim off the boat. If you do too, be sure to get a pontoon boat that has a ladder. Our first boat’s ladder was broken. We were told up front, but underestimated the challenge of getting back into the boat without a ladder. The Moors maintains an 11pm quiet time that seems to be pretty well respected, which we greatly appreciated. Wi-if there is woefully slow. If you have some work to do that requires internet access, be sure to make other arrangements (5/4G, satellite, etc) before going or you’ll be unable to get your work done. We stayed in the log cabin. Very roomy, but needs attention. The lighting inside is insufficient, except in the bathrooms and kitchen. It could have used a better cleaning prior to our arrival, and some of the furniture is pretty dilapidated. We had 6 in the building and were constantly fighting too much or too little air-conditioning. If you don’t need that much space, I suggest inquiring about more modern accommodations there. One thing that was fun was to watch the boats being loaded and unloaded at night. Some of those boats put on some real light displays with their elaborate lighting. Quite a few folks gathered at the top of the hill overlooking the marina to watch the show. If you are taking a boat, there’s a smaller boat ramp off to the lake side of the main ramp that is less congested. Overall, we had a great time at The Moors. If/when we return, we likely ask for a different place to stay on the property.

This is a very nice resort. Something for everyone. Cabins are nice. If I have to be right about this review? The cabins need landline phones and we are in cabin # 2 free wi-fi. But hardly any reception/ bars! Wi-Fi comes and goes. Other than not being able to call the marina? Comes up roaming charges. So I can't call the marina, office, ect. But IT'S BEAUTIFUL HERE. I WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY HAVE A 5 EXCEPT , TELEPHONE AND WI-FI STRENGTH. SO I'M GOING WITH A 4. Hope to come back a.s.a.p! Just hope that the problems I mentioned can be fixed! Still great place!

Thank you for your review! Unfortunately, the bandwidth can be consumed quicker as we get busier with people all over the resort. We are always trying to improve it, but there is only so much bandwidth with which we are supplied. The Wi-Fi is always stronger around the office and Ralph's. As for your cell phones, we are very sorry to hear that! We have never has that issue before, so be sure to contact your provider for help with receiving service!

Only problem this year and not the Moors was the virus we re-booked twice. We have stayed in many different cabins/cottages. Never had a problem always seem ready for us. First trip in April 2019 stayed in the 2 BR duplex. Seems to be the oldest cabin was neat but its age was showing no complaints. To this time the 3 BR waterfront cottage. Super nice and roomy just two of us fishing so one had the upstairs and one down. Was clean and ready for us. Have eaten at the restaurant a few times always good. And getting things at marina like minnows, a covered parking spot and fuel always quick and easy. So getting ready to book a trip for end of March number 6

This was an older cottage(double wide trailer) extremely disappointing. One of the knobs came off of the chest, the kitchen counter top had big pieces of formica missing, the pots and pans were sticky an dirty. Turned down the covers in our bed and there was animal hair in the sheets and the pillow cases( sheets had not been changed) they gave us new sheets but we had to change out ourselves. Issues with one of the toilets flushing, and when we opened the front door (which was not working properly) the sun came in and we saw all of the animal hair on the floor under the kitchen table with clumps of hair stuck to chair legs. There was also ants in the kitchen and in our coolers and bags we put by the back door for storage. Second bathroom was extremely small, we had to turn sideways in the shower to use it. Absolutely will not stay in older "cottages" again. The lake was fun!

This was our family of 9 adults and 2 kiddos (2 and 4) first visit to Moors resort and won’t be our last! We absolutely loved everything about it from the location of our cabin (not around other cabins but close walk to the restaurant/office) Be sure to rent a golf cart early as they go quickly and is so worth it! We booked a boat rental months before our trip but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the weather..which cleared up later in the day and we were able rent it for 4 hours. We also enjoyed the “beach” and park and pool with the kiddos. Overall the cabin was great! Very updated and clean, beds were comfy as were the pillows. We ate dinner at the restaurant the first night and really enjoyed our food options. Hannah was a great server and made sure everything was enjoyable. Be sure to take enough clothes as there’s no washer/drier. Can’t wait to plan our next family trip!!!

Been quite a few years since we have been at The Moors and the place is really updated. Our accommodations were so much better than our last visit. The cabin showed normal wear and tear but was really perfect for our family. The staff is very helpful, friendly and truly interested in making your stay nice. We had a really nice and needed four days here on Kentucky Lake. Only negative is the constant golf cart traffic. It gets kinda annoying after a while, but golf carts are a really big deal at Kentucky Lake resorts.
