I was thoroughly impressed with the Seelbach Hotel. It is a historic hotel, but that does not equate to shabby or rundown. I had several rooms booked and each was different, which I thought added character, one room was gigantic, with an itty bitty bathroom, the others were average size, average bathroom size. All clean and all seemed to have... More

Thank you for taking the time to describe what we are most proud of at the Seelbach. Our historic hotel does offer many unique rooms that gives it charm that many newer hotels cannot replicate. We are even more proud of the service you describe. Our service experts focus on exceeding guest expectations daily. I was pleased to see they... More

The hotel is very nice and I know this is a small issue but it just irritated me. They change an extra $5 to park an SUV. This is my third stay in downtown Louisville and this is the first time I’ve been charged extra. More

Thank you for the positive feedback about the hotel, but I certainly do not like to hear that parking charges will keep you from returning. Our valet team parks cars that fit into the parking garage behind our hotel at standard pricing. When a car or truck is too tall or wide for the garage, we resource a flat surface... More

Had a wonderful stay at the Seelbach in Mid May 2012. I am a HHONORS Diamond member so I was upgraded to a wonderful Jr. Suite on the 9th floor. I also got the key to the 7th floor executive lounge. The room was wonderful and included a living room. I used room service twice and my order was perfect... More

Thank you for taking the time to put your thoughts on Tripadvisor. We recognize you have plenty of experiences to compare us to as a Diamond member within Hilton's frequent traveler program. You are at the peak of all travelers, and therefore your commentary makes us feel very good. To be a Diamond member means you probably stay at Hilton... More

The Seelbach has a great restaurant - the Oak Room (must dine there) and a great bar - Al Capone drank there. The hotel is well mannered, stately. Put on your tux and pretend that its 1920. The hotel is an easy block and a half from 4th St Live so you wont lack for entertainment. Highly recommended. More

Thank you for your comments. Our Oakroom is an amazing restaurant and remains the only AAA rated 5 diamond restaurant in Kentucky. Yet, we have made it more accessible with lower price points and a menu with food you recognize and enjoy, but prepared in a way you have never experienced before. Come have an amazing dinner and take the... More

I attended a conference for work along with my wife and we stayed in the Hilton. I was a bit put off when we arrived as the road was closed at the hotel entrance and no one had made that clear to me. I drove around several times trying to figure out how to get in. Several buildings across the... More

Thank you for your very detailed commentary! I would agree that our recent road closure has certainly not created a great first impression. I apologize it was not very clear how to get to us. The good news is the project on improvements being made on a building at the end of our block is wrapping up in a few... More

Stayed for second time at Hotel Seelbach during Kentucky Derby weekend May 2012. The grand decor and helpful staff did not make up for all 3 of these things during our 2 night stay. 1. A/C did not work--Fan blew uncooled air and temperature all night was a steamy 79 to 80 degrees. We complained and it was fixed for... More

I apologize about your experience here. The Kentucky Derby weekend is the most grand time to be in Louisville and your recap does not match this grand expectation. It is very frustrating to arrive to an uncomfortably warm hotel room and certainly unaccpetable to find a pest in the room. Our maintenance and housekeeping teams take a systematic approach to... Wow! Can't say enough good things about the Seelbach. From our arrival the valets and front desk staff were incredibly attentive. They are so knowledgeable that they provided me the history of the hotel when I asked (amazing place with character, so rarely seen in hotels these days, built in 1905, etc.) and were able to specifically direct me to... I've stayed here several times a year for the past ten years. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. The rooms are generally very small, but that's perfect for a business traveler. The bar is outstanding. This is not your typical Hilton chain hotel. The lobby is fully renovated and is beautiful. Free round trip shuttle to the airport and... More

A great old well restored hotel. Rooms are nice but small. We were on the executive floor and it's food and service was great. The old bar was good but getting food there ended up warm and not hot.the location for any downtown experience you would want was excellent. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. A little pricey. More

If you like staying in historic old downtown hotels, the Seelbach should definitely be on your list. Don't let the fact that is has been around for about 100 years fool you. It definitely still has the grandeur of a stately old dame but with modern touches. The bar is a must with a full selection of local bourbons. The... More
