Just happened to see the sign on our way to Prestonsburg to look for a hotel for the night. Called to see if they had rooms available and they did! We were on a motorcycle trip traveling with another couple and and this was the last night of our trip...what a find! The lodge was a beautiful setting right on... More

March 21-24, 2013...A friend and I met here for a weekend getaway - no kids, no husbands. We spent the weekend galavanting through Paintsville and Pikeville, seeing historical sites and touring Loretta Lynn's birthplace, Van Lear Historical Museum and the Hatfield-McCoy feud sites. Upon arrival, May Lodge at Jenny Wiley State Resort is a beautiful lodge set amongst the mountains... More

I stayed at the lodge in December 2012. The facilities are dated as most state park properties. The room was 80's looking but was comfortable, and very clean. The bed was better than most for the cost. Room had a private balcony with a couple of chairs that overlooked the lake through the woods. Wi-fi service in my room was... More

I recently visited Jenny Wiley as part of their Elk Tour event. The day before the elk viewing, I hiked a couple of the trails near the lodge and thoroughly enjoyed them. One trail follows along the part of the lake shore. In general, the trails are relatively easy (moderate hiking for the vacation hiker) but some places required careful... More

We recently stayed at Jenny Wiley at the hotel. The room was nice with a balcony/porch. The bathroom was a bit commercial looking but clean. We had a view of the lake which was nice. This is what I would call a typical state park. Everything was a little dated but clean. The issues I had were with the service.... More

We never had been to Kentucky, much less a state resort park. We visited three of them in Kentucky and this was the best. The staff was extremely friendly, the accommodations were not only clean but had a deck to look out on the lake and were very spacious. They had wonderful hiking trails - very relaxing - a beautiful... More

Rooms are spacious with high ceilings and balconies and are very clean. There is a nice pool, along with a wading pool. Ask for a room with a view of Dewey Lake, but realize that in summertime the view is very limited when the trees are full of leaves. Wifi did not work when we arrived, but worked fairly well... More

This was a typical Ky. State Park. Most of the State parks I have stayed in need lots of upadating. With state funds so tight and the economy all over the nation in a slump, State Parks are getting left out. What a shame. This is a beautiful park with much to offer the traveler. We loved the playhouse in... More

As a KY resident, I have stayed here several times. It is one of my least favorite state lodges. While it is clean for the most part, the rooms are dated despite being renovated around five years ago. The restaurant has bland food in my opinion. A better bet is the Ramade Inn in nearby Paintsville. I stay there once... More

The good: The Lodge restaurant with cathedral ceiling and floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking Dewey Lake. White-tail deer bounding through the forest on my morning hike around the lake. Lake tour on a pontoon boat. The swimming pool and splash pool. The courtesy of the lodge staff. The room amenities - flat screen TV, private balcony overlooking the lake, large room.Lots... More
