If you are looking for a cookie cutter place to stay with all kinds of amenities, someone to take your luggage to your room, matching towels, etc., this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a unique place to stay, want to feel like you're staying in someone house, meet people from all over the... More

I did not stay here, much to my sincere regret! This is perhaps one of the best music bars in the country. Not to be missed, whether you love Cajun with a touch of Zydeco or not. A great mix of locals and travelers, all here for the music. An insignificant cover charge, cheap beer, dancing, no frills. It's a... More

Blue Moon Guest house is a lot about the music. It is a music venue after all. We went on a Monday Tuesday nights however so we missed it. It was a great place to use as a base for venturing out into Cajun country. The breakfast is more of a back packer's kind of arrangement with shared food available... More

Traveling through from key west to austin my family and I needed an inexpensive place to stay. I have never stayed at anything below at least sheraton standards and a hostle didn't seem to be my thing until I saw the pictures of the rooms, the location, and price. It was super clean, really friendly, people were doing yoga on... More

The Blue Moon (on weekends at least) is first an foremost a music venue. Essentially the band is playing out the back door of the rooms. This is great if your plan is to see the particular band in town and you want to see the whole show. If not be ready for a noisy, funky experience. My room was... More

Similar to a B&B stay without the breakfast. The Guest House is attached to the open air saloon - so don't go if you don't want to enjoy the music. We had a nice stay, and it was a fun new experience. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and a bit goofy with the decorations, but hey - that... More

This place is an part guesthouse, part youth hostel. We stayed in one of the private rooms, the Bird's Nest. It was described as "a quiet nook of a room for guests looking for a little more privacy." There was a private bathroom across the hallway, which I expected. This arrangement was similar to that of several B&Bs I've enjoyed.... More

The Blue Moon is one of those cool-in-an-underground-Parisian-nightclub kind of way. It's a hostel, so there's a community kitchen and bath. You share food cabinet space downstairs with whoever's backpacking across the United States from Ireland. But it has the best musical entertainment in Lafayette on Friday and Saturday nights, and is the preferred place to stay for the bands... More
