Our time at this wonderful B&B was great! Host Peggy is gracious, full breakfast included homemade yummies and was beautifully served. We rested, walked, ate and danced our way through our stay. Definitely recommend this quiet restful home and great locale. More

The location is on the access street to the city municiple services. Traffic noise starts at 6 AM and with no black out shades the street lights keep the room illuminated all night. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable but there is no TV or radio. The bathroom is extremely small, The entry and parlor (where breakfact... More

Hi I am so sorry you had an unpleasant stay with us. We do try real hard to have happy guests, but, we do sometimes have fau pauxs. The entire square we are located in is our city historical square which also houses our city hall. And, there is some early morning traffic of people going to work elsewhere. No... More

The location could not be better. Right in front of "The Tree". On the river, lovely back garden. Walking distance to everything. Peggy the Innkeeper is a good woman who serves up a lovely homemade breakfast with her own secret cafe' au lait. She makes it worth the stop. More

Per the instructions on the reservation, we arrived between 3p-5p, and were shown upstairs to a room overlooking Bayou teche, and the famous Evangeline Oak (3rd edition). Its not your typical B+B, but if you're looking for a quiet place to relax, this would be it (although there was a generator running from across the bayou all night). Plan to... More

We heard of the Old Castillo from friends who visited the inn over the past summer. Having visited the Cajun country previously we wanted to stay one night on our way home from New Orleans. The inn was very old and had a long history serving first as an inn and then as Catholic school for girls until 1986 when... More

If you want a recently renovated room, then this may not be for you. However, if you want a clean, reasonably comfortable place with plenty of character and an excellent hostess, then it's worth a go. St Martinville is quiet, and it can be a challenge to find a place to eat at night, but it's a charming little town,... More

My husband and I spent 3 delightful nights at the Old Castillo Bed and Breakfast. The ambience was everything we could have wanted. So much so that it made it hard to leave the place to go sight-seeing! Could have spent days sitting on the porch swing on the verandah watching Bayou Teche. Owner Peggy is a delight! And her... On touring the Deep South and Cajun country we decided to stay in this b+b to feel the full cajun experience. St Martinville is quite nice as is Breaux Bridge which is 10 miles away. The hotel is rustic with dark wooded furniture and wooden floors. The decor is French based and although it isn't the type of place we... More

The bed & breakfast is in a beautiful location beside the historic Evangeline Oak (Longfellow). The house & the area is rich with historical significance, and sitting on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view of the Evangeline Oak & Bayou Teche was definitely a highlight. More

Hi Thank you for your great review. Happy you enjoyed the view from the balcony with the Evangeline Oak Setting and slow moving Bayou Teche. It's always good to be able to add positives to our guests stay. Hope to see you again sometime. Thanks again, Peggy More

We stayed in this hotel this summer and we really enjoyed it! Nice clean rooms in authentic style. The breakfast is perfect and served personally by Peggy. We recommend this B&B to everyone who wants to feel the Southren Hospitality and Cajun feeling. More
