the highland lake resort is vert clean .It has a great view of the lake at the back of the property and the owners are very helpful. I recommend this place very highly. The owner always had a smile and his wife helped to find a person to drive me around Maine. Both of them took time to help me whenever... More

My wife and I had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect. It was just one night, but a nice getaway. The hotel sits above highland lake (I think there are two lakes named this in Maine, so double check), there is a tennis court and a long sprawling lawn down to the lake. It was quiet when I was... My wife and I have been coming to Highland Lake resort for over 12 years. The property has always been well maintained and the owners, Woody and Deanna are excellent hosts, personable, outgoing, and dependable. The accommodations are good, comfortable and clean. The lake is awesome, about 1.5-2 miles wide and about 6 miles long, too small for big boats. There are family... More

As soon as I saw the remark about loons, I knew who the writer was! You really should see some of his photos. The pictures of loons, especially the babies riding on the parents' backs, are great! When Dave and his wife spend their week with us each summer, the loons always seem to come out in force, "ready for... More

My husband and two adult children spent a week there. We got the Executive Suite with a bedroom and large living area and each of the kids had a separate standard room next to us. It was perfect for all. The "resort" is a motel (decently maintained) that is situated on a great lake (very, very quiet as far as... More

My son and I stayed for several days recently and found our stay to be pleasantly clean, comfortable, and friendly. The amenities were terrific and the resort sits right on the lake with a beautiful view. We especially enjoyed the bonus of sitting out on the wraparound porch right outside the room to drink our early morning coffee! Will definitely... More

I was traveling with my son's band on tour and we stopped at Dee and Woody's door around 11pm to see if they had any rooms available. They were closed up, but saw our lights pulling into the driveway and opened their doors to us. We had planned to travel on an hour more, but were too exhausted after a... More

You folks were a delight to have visit! The kids were real troupers, having had their performances so late the night before, yet wanting to get in some boating and canoeing in the morning. Luckily we live on-site, so we can often help travelers who arrive to the area after normal hours. And, if a problem arises after hours, we... More

The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable The Krupps coffee maker in the room was a wonderful addition The owners, Woody and Dee can't do enough to help you same with housekeeping. The location is beautiful, a private beach on Highland lake, use of canoes, and a barbeque area. Peaceful and amazingly beautiful sunsets.

Woody and the staff could not do enough for our family reunion. We had a wonderful lobster bake down by the lake.

We stayed at this old fashioned, family owned lakeside motel at the end of July and had a wonderful time. The rooms were simple, charming and well-maintained, and worked well for our family of 4. The Highland Lake Resort is located right on Highland Lake, with a beautiful beach, picnic area and access for canoes, rowboats, paddle boats and kayaks,... More

I'm so glad your family had a good time! We try to maintain that "New England Lakes" atmosphere while providing as many amenities as possible. We also like to let our guests use all of our facilities for free, without "resort" charges or other hidden costs. After all, the idea is for everyone to have the entire Maine lake vacation... More

We stayed at this hotel for a local event. We heard great reviews... Not what we received! There were people tailgating in the parking lot, the lake front was crowded and loud and the visit was far from peaceful! It was quiet in our room but the amenities were so outdated! The manager was non confrontational and let the wild... More

In this case, I have to agree with many of the writer's comments. The weekend she is discussing was the date for a group's family reunion, which has been held at the Resort every three years since the early 1990's. This year, all but 5 rooms were taken by the family members, while non-reunion guests had booked earlier or taken... More
