It is nice to be able to stay by the ocean with cool breezes coming in at night. For a 2 bed room, it was quaint, a little musty smelling. No TV or radio are provided. Breakfast left a lot to be desired, high carbohydrate, low protein, not what I would call gourmet, but the food tasted good. I would... More

This was a real studio with fabulous light. It overlooked the harbor with no obstructions. This is a very special place. The cottage was perfectly outfitted, nothing missing.

The place is elegantly decorated in traditional American eclectic style. I enjoyed the interior design of the place as an art form in itself. Not only the hosts are very friendly and intelligent people, the whole village seems very friendly. People would invite me to take pictures from their back yard, because they have very nice view on the ocean.... More

Our stay at the Black Duck Inn was disappointing. The view was beautiful, but it felt as if I was staying in the hosts' elderly grandmother's house. The bathroom had not been cleaned, and the house was damp/musty. There were old books and games all over the house; dust was everywhere. The carpets felt damp and dirty. Our breakfast consisted... Having spent part of my childhood in Maine, I wanted to introduce my French wife and adult children to Maine As I Remember It. We could not have made a better choice for our long Memorial Day weekend holiday. Bob and Barry were wonderful hosts; breakfast was the time to chat with them. Corea Harbor is just as I remember... The Black Duck Inn has a special place in the heart of my husband and I. Eighteen years ago my husband proposed to me on Route 1 in Portland and we eloped to our destination - The Black Duck Inn- to be married on the coast. The owners, Bob and Barry welcomed us genuinely, warmly and actually served as the... More

Our first stay at the Black Duck Inn was the fulfillment of my wishful prescription for a quiet B&B at the end of a peninsula in Maine where I could take a break from a hectic job and relax completely. We loved it so much that we have gone back every summer for several years. This year, 2008, we stayed... More

In the downeast fishing village of Corea, the Black Duck Inn is a true gem. The accommodations are tastefully comfortable with the hosts' own creative flair. It is ideal for those who enjoy hiking, kayaking, birding and true Maine hospitality. Barry and Bob are extremely welcoming hosts and are ready to enhance your stay whether you want to read, paint,... More

We have vacationed in Maine each year for the past 12 years from Ste. Agatha to York Beach and from Rangeley to Lubec. Our stay in Corea in October, 2008 was our first. In many ways, it is a piece of Maine we had been hoping to find and finally did. We like that it is quiet and not "glitzy."... More

If you are looking for something very quaint with absolutely nothing to do then you might like this inn. The closest restaurant is 10 miles away, cellphone coverage is 20 miles away but they will gladly let you use their phone for a fee. They claim you can see the water. If you go to the top floor and stand... More

The traveler was alone at the time of check in, she informed us that she couldn't stay since cell phone access was unavailable and she, as a psychiatrist, felt she needed to be immediately available to patients. I informed her she could receieve calls on the house phone if she chose (no fee), but she said that was too difficult... More
