This is a wonderful place for a weekend getaway no matter the weather. We found the inn comfortable, with a great space on the 1st floor to relax, and served a delicious breakfast. It is an easy location to walk to restaurants, and the art museum.

My husband and I at the West End Inn in conjunction with a mini reunion of classmates from my country day school one of whom lives down the street in Portland. Our overall stay was flawless. Room and bathroom were elegantly appointed and breakfast was outstanding. Our initial greeting and interaction with the owner/manager during our stay could not have been more hospitable.

This is a superb B&B. The innkeeper, Milan, is a friendly, interesting fellow, a marvelous chef (breakfasts!), and quick to offer enthusiastic recommendations for restaurants and activities. The room was beautifully appointed, with a comfortable bed, a roomy bathroom, and comfortable chairs for reading. The breakfast menu is always one sweet entree and one savory, with changes every day. They were delicious! There is a comfortable central sitting area with a fireplace.

We had a perfect stay at the Inn. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully styled. There's a cozy common area with gas fireplace and afternoon treats. The breakfast was absolutely delightful. Parking was very easy in a quiet residential area. We highly recommend!

Very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but not overbearing. Plus a great location for a Portland visit! We look forward to staying at the West End Inn again! A great find.

We spent Christmas week in Portland visiting our daughter’s family and our new grandson. The West End Inn made for a perfect stay! Milan, the host was gracious and friendly and prepared beautifully plated and delicious hot breakfast every morning. The bed linens were soft and cozy and the pillows perfect. Plenty of fresh towels and hot water too. We enjoyed the coziness of the parlor and meeting and chatting with other guest over breakfast. We will definitely return!

The inn is in a lovely old neighborhood. Both innkeepers were very pleasant and generous with their time and recommendations, which was very appreciated. My ensuite room was spacious and comfortable once I adjusted the radiators. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. However, there was very little honey left in the dispenser (took forever to dispense!); even when I asked for more, very little was added by the fill-in innkeeper. By the 2nd day of my stay, there was only Stevia left; the other sweeteners were never replenished. As it was a chilly weekend, my friend and I had multiple cups of tea and neither of us likes Stevia. As an innkeeper myself, I try to make sure that everything available to guests (K-Cups, tea bags, a variety of sweeteners, creamers) is replenished multiple times a day. Always having plenty of everything available is very important to guests' satisfaction level. I thought it was a shame that such an elegant old house was decorated in such a modern fashion. I understand that's the trend these days, but it really doesn't go with or honor the era in which the home was built. The decor was well-coordinated, just not to my taste. Guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream, right? ;) Overall, I enjoyed my stay but, if I return to Portland, I believe I'll opt to stay in town so that I don't have to drive everywhere. Thanks for the opportunity to review your inn and for making my stay (mostly) enjoyable. …

Very nice boutique inn - the common spaces are very pretty, contemporary yet still have the vibe of a late 1800's home - and the cooked-to-order breakfast is delicious! The honor system wine bar is a great added touch, and the Innkeeper Milan, was very kind in giving us a credit as we were celebrating a birthday. Our bedroom was a king on the 2nd floor - and very nice and comfortable. It did get very warm without any controls - but we just used the overhead fan. The bathroom was clean and neat - (just a bit dated compared to the rest of the room and Inn) - but nothing that would prevent anyone from staying! We had a wonderful trip, enjoyed sitting by the fire with a glass of wine and would highly recommend West End Inn!

The West End Inn was a magical little place. My wife and I took a long weekend to Portland after we got married and the West End Inn was the perfect little place for us. Milan was exceptional and catered to our needs. Breakfast was always spot on. The room was wonderful. It was cozy, quaint, and nestled wonderfully in a neighborhood. It was easy to get around town from here. We can't wait to come back!
