I went to Harper's Ferry for the weekend with my friend and we stayed at the HI- Harper's Ferry hostel for all three days we were there. We got a private room for a great price! The hostel was clean, and the staff was fantastic and very friendly! They treated us just like family! Loretta cooked us a wonderful meal... More

Chose to get away from DC with my girlfriend for the weekend and needed a cheap place to stay. The Harpers Ferry Hostel was a great place for our short stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I called and was able to reserve a private room for only $40.00 which is a great price. The Hostel is clean with... More

drove from Dulles to here at 11pm Thursday night.Easy with GPS. Driveway entry is ( from Dulles) upward left turn through gates. Large flat car park at rear , with grassed flat yard. Can see the rivers from the rear property boundary. Very clean inside, great modern sperate toilets. Good kitchen & lounge. Twin bunked room was sufficient for 2... More

I'm surprised to see that others enjoyed this hostel--I was treated like a second class citizen during a stay here as a camper and it was the worst treatment I've ever received. I highly recommend you go to the Brunswick Family Campground instead (http://www.brunswickmd.gov/campground.htm) which seemed lovely and was much closer to the C&O trail! I had to pay $5... More

Beware camping at this hostel. You are not welcome generally. You can pay for bathroom access, but soon after doing this the staff decided that they would only allow us to use the bathroom once, although we were not previously informed of this policy. Apparently this is their new policy because they changed their signs the next morning to say... More

I've stayed in quite a few hostels in various parts of the world and this is one of the ones that seems to have remained true to the original hostel spirit. . 1) ,The manager is very welcoming and helpful. (can't mention her name to give credit since you aren't allowed to mention names onTripAdvisor, unfortunately) 2) , it is... More

The front desk was fantastic and super helpful. We booked a private room for the night, and were coming off of the Great Allgheny Passage after quite a day of riding from Williamsport, MD. The hostel was clean and quiet. No tv that I could see. Internet available in the common area. Breakfast was included in the cost as was... More

I have stayed at this hostel twice.Once while hiking part of the Appalachian Trail. And once while bicycling down the C&O Canal Towpath. Both times the HI Harpers Ferry Hostel provided a great place for a well deserved rest. Since many of the guests are hikers or bikers , its a great place to exchange information about the trails.Especially if they... More

This place is comfortable and roomy and management is helpful. The full kitchen is good and well marked on the cupboards for finding utensils and condiments. The included breakfast consists of pancakes, coffee and juice. It makes an affordable and sensible alternative to the expensive places actually in Harpers Ferry, especially to hikers and bikers on the C&O Canal. .... More

This international hostel does not photograph well so I was not expecting much. But it was excellent. It was homey throughout with many unexpected niceities such as toiletries and hair dryer in the women's room, plenty of towels and a made up bed. The women's rest room is in the dorm room so there is no going down the hall... More
