Oxford, MD is a great little historic town and the Robert Morris Inn provided an enjoyable stay. Stayed in the Bottle Cottage with King Bed and direct view out the front window overlooking the water and the oldest privately owned operating ferry. The room was as expected, comfortable with sitting, bath and two sink areas. Breakfast each morning was delicious... More

Excellent view, very good food, dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Beautiful and peaceful small water town. Nice drive from the beach. Close yet so far away. The inn was built in 1710 and the entire town is historic , great for history buffs. You can walk or bicycle ride the whole town. This trip is... More

In the sleepy little town of Oxford, MD, lies the Robert Morris Inn. At first glance, it appears quite charming, but the closer you get the worse it looks. In fact, the photos on their website appear to have been taken years ago when it was alive with all it's glory. It is an old, outdated, antiquated inn listed on... More

Many thanks for visiting our Inn and delighted you enjoyed your dining experience. The Vermont slate flagstone you refer to are dark but they are, like the Inn itself very historic and unique. The Inn is all about history and remains one of the most iconic and unique buildings on the Eastern Shore, if not America and we would be... More

We got married in Scotland at the sister hotel to the Robert Morris Inn, the Lake of Menteith on 8 May 2013 (see separate review on Trip Advisor). We decided to honeymoon in the USA and spent 3 nights at the Robert Morris Inn. After such an excellent wedding at the Lake we were hoping for more of the same... More

Again our congratulations and many thanks for your kind words and generous comments. We were so pleased that you entrusted your wedding to us at "The Lake" in Scotland and even more so visiting The Robert Morris Inn as part of your honeymoon. We stayed at the Robert Morris Inn for two nights, the 20th and 21st of June. The restaurant was excellent - the best green pea soup I have ever had. They have great breakfasts there, too. There is a ferry boat you can walk to and ride over to Bellevue - but it is better to take your car if... More

Thank you so much for staying at our charming and historic Inn. We appreciate your comments and business. This area offers up fabulous produce through the seasons and as you experienced, both in the restaurants and direct from the farm to the public. In the summer the Ferry does offer a great little trip across the river which connects our... More

My boyfriend and I recently spent two nights at the Inn on the midweek package that included meals. It was wonderful and we are already looking forward to going back. The two dinners we had in the tavern were superb. The room was small (as advertised) but adequate. The only issue was heat. We were there just before the room... More

Dear Dale, Many thanks for your kind words and generous comments, we are delighted you enjoyed your experience at the Inn. Whilst our Cabin rooms are tiny and simple, they are comfortable and give us the opportunity to offer incredible Eastern shore value. Regards Ian & Mark More

We visited here on Fri-Sun in May for our wedding anniversary. The Robert Morris Inn is indeed historic and very quaint. We stayed in one of the Bottle Cottages. Keep in mind that this is a very small town and the Inn is historic; so if you are expecting lots of amenities, it is not that kind of place. There... More

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with all modern amenities then this is not the place for you. The Robert Morris Inn is a step back in time to 1710. The Inn, and the ferry to get there, are steeped in history. The hotel is a gem, and once inside the door you are ushered into another... More

Dear Shirley Jeanne The Robert Morris Inn is an iconic building and at over 300 years old, Americas oldest Inn. Little "messed around with" customers do get a very clear sense of its history amd our friendly team and the town it is located in, soften its edges and make it welcoming. Thank you too for the great photographs and... More

My husband and I took advantage of a Groupon deal and spent two nights in the Admiral's Room, on the second floor of the Robert Morris Inn in Oxford. Dear Jean Many thanks for visiting the Inn and sharing your experience with fellow travellers. Our building is iconic and plays a significant role in American history. Being over 300 years old does present challenges but those create the character and patina that vistors expect to find. We look forward to seeing you next year and a great selection of... More

Our little get away was given to us by our children as a Christmas gift. Very friendly staff, excellent food in the restaurant, breakfast and dinner.
