If your dream is to stay in a country Inn, my vote is for The Inn at Castle Hill. The rooms are clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. They remind me of the beautiful inns in the English countryside. Located on the Crane estate, you can watch the tides flow in and out twice a day in the salt marshes which... More

The inn and grounds are lovely and the rooms meet all expectations. They just bought a load of bikes which are perfect for exploring the estate or nearby beaches. On one cold night in april they lit the fire in the lobby and served us wine while we admired the art and objects on display. The breakfast and afternoon cookies... More

This was the second time I've stayed at Castle Hill. My husband and I decided to take advantage of a mid-week off-season special which gave us a second night for $99. Our room, Florence, was lovely with 2 window seats looking out to the ocean, a comfortable king bed, and well-equipped bathroom with tub (though the outlet by the sink... More

visit the Inn at Castle Hill. Wow, what a beautiful location and facility! The inn is a first-class home away from home with very comfortable, clean rooms. The staff is friendly, courteous and hard-working. The morning breakfasts are delicious and include local, fresh ingredients such as Appleton Farm eggs & Ipswich apples. Don't forget to partake of the fresh-baked breads... More

My husband and I recently returned from 2 nights at this beautiful inn and we highly recommend it: it's beautiful and meticulously maintained with delicious breakfasts, a delightful, romantic fireplace and comfortable rooms. Bob and his staff are friendly without being intrusive and exceeded expectations in helpfulness. Bob is very knowledgeable on the history of the Inn and the Crane... More

Big difference from the web sight total letdown. Water stains on celling old just rundown. Went down for breakfast and was greeted by some young girl who not only looked like she had come from the gym but also smelled like it . My husband asked for sugar for our coffee she came back and threw some pink packets of... More

My teenage son and I were there from 9/3-9/5 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed it! When we pulled into the inn, a staff member came out to greet us, helped us get settled and answered all of our questions. Within minutes, we headed to the glorious Crane Beach with beach towels, tote, beach chairs and a complimentary beach pass ($15.00 value)... More

The Inn is a gracious, tasteful, and beautiful place to spend a few days. However, management has chosen to take a black eye on some of its problems rather that address them. The room designated as "Choate" should not be offered to guests until these issues are resolved. Others have complained about faulty central air conditioning at this Inn and... More

A beautiful setting if you want peace and quiet. The front porch and it's view are fabulous. The rooms are sparsely furnished but adequate. Staff is very accomondating. Make sure you bring a book since there are no tv's and no other forms of entertainment. This is a place to stay if you want total relaxation. Spend a day at... More

This was my second visit to the Inn at Castle Hill, a simply lovely property belonging to the Trustees of Reservations in Ipswich, MA. Part of the grand Crane estate (think of the Crane plumbing dynasty, not Crane paper), the Inn is a beautiful, well-appointed guest house on a much-appreciated human scale. The inn keeper, Bob, couldn't be friendlier or... More
