When you have to be in Boston, it is actually easier to stay outside the city itself. Somerville is perfect, because with a hop and a skip you are on I-93 and in downtown Boston. Very affordable, clean, good service, free parking, free shuttle service into the city and nearby t stop. Bar is also open late and very big. I have paid hundreds more in Boston for half the amenities.
