It's a nice place to stay. Bill and his staff were very helpful. Not deluxe accomadations, but very clean. I would stay there again.

Emerald Isle has the potential to be great. On the surface the rooms seem fine, but lots of odd problems. Everything seems cheap (and not in a good way). A bit of professional renovation would go a long ways. Springs on the hide-a-bed are shot. Half the windows do not work. Bath tub constantly leaking. Chairs falling apart. VERY minimal...

I first stayed at the Emerald Isle when I brought my family to Beaver Island for the first time five years ago. We now make Beaver Island our annual vacation destination and have stayed at the Emerald Isle every year since. It is an absolutely wonderful hotel with a kitchen in every room. The rooms are very clean and are...

Room included a small kitchenette with stove, fridge and microwave. It was clean but not brand new by any means. Weird that there were no hooks anywhere in the room! The toilet seat was nearly falling off but we asked Bill to fix it and it was done within an hour.
We stayed here because we had to, not finding other accommodation when the ferry schedule required us to stay an extra night. We couldn't leave fast enough! In fact, we were able to get on an earlier ferry and skip our second night there, even though it was paid for.
The rooms were barely acceptable (despite costing $200/night for a...

The service was horrible and the amenities not much better. I was charged $168.54 for a one night stay in a place with no air conditioning and a broken couch and screen. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. I have stayed all over the country and never experienced such rude service in a town that should...

Eight months later I still have Beaver Island on my mind and the wonderful and unique memories of our first trip there from Wisconsin. I loved the Emerald Isle hotel in spite of its imperfections. I can't wait to go back and I will certainly stay at the Emerald Isle again.
As another reviewer said...very basic. No kleenex in the bathroom or paper towels in the kitchenette. No phones, no hair dryer, no directions on how to use the Dish TV system. Although it appeared to have hundreds of channels, many of them said they were "locked". Very frustrating that they didn't have ESPN for Football coverage on a Saturday in...

This hotel is very basic......no phones, no kleenex, no paper towels. The rooms were clean, the staff really friendly, and it was a very nice roomy efficiency. It is obvious this place needs some yardwork done but I don't believe that is a priority here. Also, I would request a room on the 2nd floor because there is noise from...

The owner of the hotel, Bill Thomas, is a gracious host. He provides pick-up from the ferry to take guests to the hotel even though it is about a block away from the dock. He also was very gracious and served as a tour guide to us, providing an excellent recommendation for a hike through beautiful woods, taking us to...
