Situated in a rough part of town close to the Greyhound Bus Terminal and Joe Louis Arena, you will be greeted by staff behind a bullet-proof glass check-in counter with a business card to the DPD Homicide Division taped to a filing cabinet. Don't be surprised to see homeless people outside during the day, and prostitutes working at night. I... More

It is what it is but its better than what I thought it would be, situated on a neglected industrial area.. The room was clean and the furniture etc was good. but no a/c or opening windows in the whole place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a restricted secure parking compound which helped to reassure me.I was... More

I read reviews from this site and was very scepticle about coming here. When I arrived there was a young gentleman named Wally and he was exceptionally gracious. I asked to see the room first from another review and was pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was. Wally was very helpfull in giving me directions to local attractions and... More

We chose to stay in Detroit for my birthday/our anniversary this year and we're glad we did. Corktown Inn was a great find located just on the age of downtown. We stayed in the (2 room) King Jacuzzi Suite (price-unbeatable). The rooms were nice and clean, the staff was very polite (both night and day) and we were able to... More

It is what it is but its better than what I thought it would be. The room was clean and stocked and the furniture etc was newer. The staff was nice enough. There is a restricted parking lot which calmed some of my nerves. Its close to Joe Lewis and Slows BBQ. More

I've stayed here a couple times during the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. It is a no frills hotel - dirty linens, trash in your room, a parking gate that keeps you up because people are going in and out. You are greeted by a cashier behind security glass, a bunch of vending machines and frozen TV dinner boxes taped to... More

I stayed at the Corktown Inn 10-10-2010, and the experience was traumatizing.. I was eaten up by BEDBUGS! I have three photos and two witnesses. One in which is an employee of the establishment. To make matters even worse, when I spoke to the manager he told me there was nothing he culd do and gave me ten dollars and... More

We spent two nights at the Corktown Inn for our anniversary. A few of the problems my husband and I had with this particular establishment include: tiny towels, spots on the walls, tv that cut in and out, blood on the curtains, room generally dirty, no maid/cleaning service throughout our stay, broken glass in parking lot, some lights didn't work,... We stayed at the Corktown Inn for one night for the Detroit Tigers' Opening Day. The location was a fair 10 minute walk from the stadiums, but in the safe and trafficked neighborhood of Corktown. You won't be impressed by any amenities, extras, gilded architecture or fancy restaurants, but you will find a clean room and a comfy bed at... More

Charged my card for two extra nights, when we weren't there. An attempted break in of our room at 4am. Phones didn't work to call for help. Trapped inside while lunatic banged on the door for an hour.... Can't walk in this neighborhood after dark. If you enjoy risking your life{not kidding}, then this is the place for you !!! More
