You couldn't ask for a better location to stay when seeing the Tigers or Lions play. Could use some updating with decor in room. The building is beautiful in the lobby. Its just an old building that could use some modern touches More

Great value and location in downtown Detroit our room was clean, the staff was helpful and the price was about half as much as the other hotels in the area. Yes the hotel is old but with great character and 1917th century charm we felt as if we were back in time for a day. I also could not believe... More

This is one of those old downtown hotels in a perfect location that could use some updating. Our room was what they called a junior suite. It was essentially two rooms with one of them turned into a kitchen. It had a full size refrigerator and range and a small table. There were no cooking pans or utensils, so it... More

Seeing other reviews about poor customer service? what are they talking about? we made a night before online res. and I made mistake, booked same day not next so I called direct to fix date and the same gentleman that told me to book online earlier because of cheaper rates answered and said I already fixed it for you. When... More

We stayed here specifically because of the proximity to Ford field (it's literally around the corner) and we paid about $75 dollars to stay there for one night. I was surprised when booking online that a king bed was not an option as that seems to be the standard in most places now. I initially booked a room with 2... More

Luckily we "found" this treasure so often overlooked - just around the corner from Ford Field, Co-America Park, Gem Theatre and the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit. Built in 1917 as the Henry Clay (lobby still has original tile and stained glass windows) it remains a classic with lots of character. More

I love historic hotels, and safety, cleanliness, centrality, and affordability will often make me tolerate more "funkiness" than the next traveler, but I'm afraid that I cannot recommend this hotel in Downtown Detroit. The lobby was lovely, and full of the fascinating history of this almost 100-year-old hotel, but the room we stayed in for 3 nights looked as if... More

First problem, was told to park at Opera House parking, but when I went to park, parking attendant said I couldn't and that Miner wasn't suppose to be telling guest to park there. When I called hotel to find different parking spot, they said they didn't know of any (You don't of any other structure in the city ?!). Second,... More
