Good value and unique, Interesting hotel. Good food and reasonably priced. Very unique decor. Loved it. I was a little nervous because of the mixed reviews but was very pleased with my stay. Would definitely stay here again if ever up in this area again. Great view of the lake. Great location.

Made a reservation for April2013 in November 2012. Two weeks prior to reservation called to check on it and the Hotel said sorry we are full and don't have room for you. Never stay at a mom and pop hotel that doesn't use a computer to take reservations!!!

This is definitely a real experience. When we were there the elevator was broken, so we were glad we were only on the second floor. Room was very clean and the hotel has the decor one would expect from the owners' wanting to personalize the facility. The impression we got is that the owners really care about their hotel. We... While I enjoyed my one night stay at House of Ludington it isn’t for everyone… This is a historical hotel that has keys hanging behind the desk. When you check in you get a key to the front door so after hours you can come and go. It reminds me of some of the small hotels I have stayed at... More

The room was clean, and the people were very friendly. But this is an old hotel with low quality updates. There is also a lot of stuff all over the place. It is a quirky, interesting building but it doesn't really feel historic in the rooms. The restaurant is great with super atmosphere, very good food and surprising variety. It... More

A key word is "experience". We absolutely loved our 3 night/4 day stay. Most mornings my hubby went downstairs and made the coffee because he was the first person up. We had a waterfront queen room with windows that opened to allow in the beautiful breeze. How refreshing to stay somewhere that was not hermetically sealed! Room rates are commensurate... More

We were in the U.P. two nights ago driving towards Escanaba in a downpour when we heard a commercial for House of Ludington come on the radio. We decided to stay the night and eagerly drove into town and found the hotel. Guess what? All locked up for the night (and I believe this was before 9pm)! There was a... More

My daughter had her wedding reception at the House of Ludington and it was a beautiful place for such a beautiful event!!! My daughter loved the history of the House of Ludington and wanted her guests to experience the history first hand. Suzell was great to work with, the food was wonderful and the reception ran like clock work. I... More

From the complimentary sangria to the farewell picture had a great time. Didnt see anything supernatural but our hallway could have been taken from the movie the shinning (redrum). They were very organized and was ready for our group of twenty four people. If you want a little piece of history then this is the place to stay. The hotel... More

Don't have your wedding here. Unless Suzell realizes she needs to make some serious changes, I will not be recommending the House of Ludington to anyone. I chose this place because I loved the idea of the ambience of an old hotel...overall, I admit, things turned out well, but this was far from a professional business transaction. No one needs...
