The Pontiac Lodge is a hidden gem. The rooms are clean, comfortable and afforable. I have stayed here several times and all of the rooms are unique. The Lodge is well maintained and in a very convenient location downtown. I would recommend it to everyone. More

We stayed at the lodge for two nights. It's an older facility and isn't fancy, but it has been generally well maintained and our room (the Ojibway) had the nice touches of a wet bar, microwave and mini-fridge. Clean with good location. Older establishment with all rooms above a main street store by way of side building stairway. . This is the best family hotel anywhere. Over the years we've travelled alot. Our room at the Pontiac Lodge fit our needs perfectly. The home-like bathroom, with exhaust fan and drawers...the wet bar, microwave and refrigerator...the nice linens, and towels available to go to the beach....the fact that you could open the windows not only for the fresh summer breezes... The rooms were clean and very roomy. It was nice to stay somewhere without all the commercialism. The beds were clean and comfortable. It was an older hotel, but offered many amenities. Just around the corner from the ferry and all the shops. Will definitely go back again. More

The only downside was no air conditioning in the apartments, but we were lucky enough to have decent temps and low humidity. We were also worried that being directly over The Village Inn that it would be noisey, but we didn't hear a thing! I would definitely stay here again! More

Great hotel for "real people" on the island. Yes, you have to book relatively early to get in but it's well worth it. The hotel is less than a block away from Shepler's Dock. Very handy for their workers to bring your luggage to the hotel....especially with the steps!!! Alan is wonderful to work with and for suggestions! :-D More
