Our first experience of Halali was sadly not a good one. We entered the game park through the gates by Namatoni around 4.30pm and didn't realise it would take us over 1.5 hours to reach the resort so it was after sunset when we arrived at the gates. The security guard was really rude and aggressive and ordered us to... More

We stayed in Elephant which was very spacious especially the bathroom with the double sinks and large shower. Lovely soft white towels and bed linen. We never got to use the hot top whilst we were there it looked very clean but not that hot and no instructions but very got the time anyway. We stayed 2 nights and spent... More

Halali camp is a straight forward rest camp in the middle of the Etosha National park. Facilities accommodate the needs of travellers. Nothing more. The absolute gem of this camp is however the waterhole. Its fantastic in certain times of the year. The best action is normally in late afternoon and evening. The rare and elusive animals can be seen... More

We are a family of 4 traveling for vacation in march 2012. We really liked parts of our stay at Halali, but it certainly had some drawbacks. The good first: The chalets are roomy and can easily hold 4 in the 2 bedrooms. Larger facilities were available. The bathrooms are nice and clean. There is a separate bathroom and shower... More

Nicely located, good waterhole, but hot and facilities on park are not so good. When we stayed there most of the campsites didnt have electricity. The waterhole didnt have electricity as well, so no possibility to watch animals at night. A large part just around the campsite had been burned as well. Also, the restaurant was swaming with wasps and... More

Our 4th visit to Halali and it remains our firm favourite of the four NWR 'resorts' in Etosha. We far prefer this Waterhole although being New Year did create a lot of discarded tins and bottles that revellers were obviously too tired to carry back empty having exhausted themselves carrying them up when full! Disgusting behaviour by a stupid few.... More

Stayed at Halali about a month after the large fires around the area. This we believe is the reason why there was less game around this area than Okaukuejo or Namutoni. The resort itself is very nice with very high standard of the family lodges, secluded waterhole and big pool. Dinner was possibly the best we had in Namibia! Shop... More

I am surprised to read so many negative reviews of Halali. We spent 2 nights recently in the Rhino Honeymoon Suite and loved it! We had just spent 3 nights at Onguma which, while more luxurious, didn't compare in terms of value for money and accessibility to the park. We have been married for 20 years so our perceptions are... The campsite is located 70km from Okaukuejo Camp in Etosha National Park. We had a very good site at a less popular camp ground (compared to Okaukuejo). The amenities were clean & there is a lovely pool & restaurant area. The shop was well stocked. The floodlit waterhole viewing area is a rocky outcrop with quite uncomfortable seating. We opted...
