To rate this place with ordinary hotels as a measure does not speak of it at all. Yes, it is in need of lots of loving care and money infusion, but the location, charm, history and frankly, the value for the money make this a wondrous place to stay in southern michigan. My room had a huge balcony on the...

I enjoyed this hotel, though it is a bit shabby. It has a lot of character, and it perfectly located right on the river and across the street and an easy walk to restaurants and shops. But the rates advertised on the web site are only about half what they are actually charging. The posted rate for a riverside room...

I'm a travel agent and finding the Inn to be in much needed repair. Toilets lack sufficient flushing pressure and our seat had 4 cigarette burns in it. Our first room was missing a bulb in the bathroom fixture, and the sheets up near the pillows were badly stained. Hot water was really lacking, and room lighting was poor. It...

The hotel is in need of renovations. Toilet seat was peeling, tv was 15 years old with poor sound and picture. To boot the pool was closed and the fitness room consisted of a bike and treadmill in an unheated room. We travelled here with friends and found the service to be poor. Front desk staff were unwilling to help...

We returned to St Clair Inn after our July visit. Everything was perfect this trip. While an older Inn it is rustic and really romantic. We first stayed here on our wedding night exactly 29 years ago and it is still charming. No problems whatsoever!!! Checkout the menu it is impressive but a bit pricey. We recommend the Inn for...

Rooms with attached balconies face the river and Great Lakes freighters plying...

We took a rare weekend away and stayed at the historic St. Clair Inn on our way to Canada. We used to own a boat and sailed by the Inn. We could tell from the water a few years ago that it's in need of repair. The pool and Jacuzzi area has been shut down off and on now for...

We have been to the St. Clair Inn off an on for over 40 years (it was built in 1926) but generally for special occasions and then usually the dining room. But we had not been there in the last decade or more, had an extra night in our itinerary, and thought we should give it a try. The reviews...

I am the Activity Director at a Senior Living Community in Fort Gratiot Mi. I called the St Clair Inn back in August to make sure the restaurant and restrooms could accomadate wheel chairs & walkers. I was told "yes". I made reservations for 16.
That was not the case.
First, handicap parking is far from the only door open....
