Most of the rooms are pools side, yet the rooms do not have any sort of thermostat . . . even in February in Minnesota, that room was HOT since it was right off the pool and there is all of the humidity from the pool. When I called to the front desk to ask how we could control the... More

Our stay at the Sawmill Inn was extremely unique. It is an old relic of years ago. You still get to use a "key". Something my 14 year old daughter is not use to in this era of life. A new life lesson. The Complementary breakfast where very tasty in the restaurant. Where do you get 2 eggs, 2 sausage's,... More

The restaurant is the only good thing about this place.. The halls are narrow, dark and gloomy. The ceilings are very low stained drop panels and that is before you see the rooms. Old beds and linens, and a bathroom that hasn't been refreshed in many years. The meeting rooms are tired and the appointments are well past their useful life.... More

Yes, it's old and dated, but it's the cheapest in the area, has a great free breakfast, and is locally owned. The lobby has charm and the bar is fun. Restaurant is one of the best in town. Tip - don't get a room by the pool if you plan on a quiet stay. Some people will be turned off... More

OK, this bizarre at first, but I could not BELIEVE the pristine condition of this place!! It is outdated, but in a neat, historic way. I felt like a kid again. The price was right, I barely knew what to do with a real metal key, and I left this place in awe. It is the most well kept, pristine... More

I attended a festival in June and the host hotel was The Sawmill Inn. I arrived a little early (about 2pm) and the room wasn't ready yet. I wasn't upset, after all their check-in time is after 3pm. When I arrived in my room I was shocked at how old it was considering the price. There are other options in... More

The rooms are very outdated and need a complete makeover. We had what was suppose to be a non-smoking room, however, when you opened the door it is like you ran right into a big cloud of smoke. I would assume it was previously a smoking room that has about 20 years of smoke imedded in the walls. I had... More

It was July 2011 and warm in Minnesota. I stayed in a poolside room for a week. I was unable to control the temperature with the humidity in the room being poolside and the air conditioner didn't work that well. The air conditioner fan was in the wall over bed and was very loud - couldn't watch TV without having... More

This hotel itself is fabulous if you want a old-time, country feel. I was so impressed with this hotel...Until blatantly discriminated against, based on 1) my speech impairment and 2) my service dog. Possibly the very worst discrimination I have endured in years. There was restitution, in the end, but by that time the damage is done. The take old... More

My room was free so that was awesome and there were a lot of people there having fun (which meant the hallways were loud). We had room 262 which was away from the highway but at the end of the hall by the outside door which crashed anytime someone came home from the bar. Definately an ear plug hotel. I've... More
