My girl friend and I really enjoyed staying at No road Inn. There's not much to say as everything was perfect, all details taken care at the highest. no road inn offers luxury though pleasantly understated rooms, spacious, full of light, with great sea view. Barbara and Gary put a lot of efforts to create their own paradise. Food was... More

What a wonderful place! The owners made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and the freshwater hot tub after a long day on the trail was jperfect. Great wine selection, the food was terrific and the room was large, quiet, and had spectacular views (we were upstairs). The bathroom was also big and immaculate. Highly recommend!

We stayed at No Road Inn just before Christmas when we were walking the QCT. It's set in a fabulous location. We received a lovely welcome upon arrival from Gary. The room was fantastic, with wide decks overlooking the water, comfortable bed and even wireless headphones for the TV. The bathroom was brilliant, with one way glass and it felt... More

Hard to fault! Spectacular views from our large room and deck - all immaculately clean, with beautiful decor, and the bath was a highlight (especially after arriving dirty and wet from the track). Hosts Gary and Barbara are friendly, welcoming and very helpful (even forwarding on items we'd left - by boat to our stay the next night). We had... More

If you're visiting Queen Charlotte Sound then you've simply got to stay at the No Road Inn. It's a very small personal lodge with the most clean and comfortable furnishings - allvery well priced. The attention to detail and the design make this a unique place, from the hammocks outside the rooms overlooking the sounds to the Hot Tub in... More

One of the highlights of our trip. Location: right on the waterfront (next to Furneaux lodge, which incidentally looked all a bit holiday camp-ish). Great uninterrupted views of the bay. Room: we had the Queen Charlotte Room, upper deck on the end, bath overlooking the trail. Beautifully equipped. Lovely view. Spacious and comfortable. Faultless. Food (and Wine): outstanding - we... Best place we stayed while walking the Queen Charlotte Track. Garry met us in his black singlet and his bare feet and some cold beers in his hand - a perfect welcome that made us feel at home from the start. We all sat down together for a quiet drink on the deck, listening to Elvis on Garry's new outdoor... More

Me and my partner Chris chose this place on the basis of other reviews and were to disappointed. When we arrived, we met Barb who showed us to our room. Let me start by saying that the was no ordinary room - the decor was very tasteful with a large patio door opening onto a deck looking over Endeavour Inlet.... More

We spent one wonderful night here in February while hiking the Queen Charlotte Track. Garry and Barb pay attention to every little detail! The rooms are fantastic and this lodge made our top five places to stay list while traveling throughout the South Island for six weeks. Our only regret is that we were only able to stay here for...
