I am French-American. I know good food (see my review on l'Abbaye de la Celle). I had eaten at la Bastide 12 years ago with my husband. It was wonderful. I had always wanted to go back and stay there.
1) The food is poor (we ate there two nights in a row and both agreed)
2) The hotel rooms...

We returned to La Bastide de Moustiers for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary having not been there for over 10 years. We were hugely disappointed with the restaurant. We started the evening in the bar with a glass of champagne and were served an over sized piece of soggy fougasse covered with tomato and olives. This was not what...

Peaceful place close to one of the most beautiful villages of France and near to Gorges du Verdun. Amazing service - first class! Beautiful country style rooms. Perfect for honeymoon.
The restaurant however, was not so good as we expected. Definitely worthwhile if you`re visiting Provence.

My daughter and I did a mother-daughter trip through France and decided to spend two nights here. I am marking it as romantic for couples because I should have come here with my husband! My daughter and I had a wonderful, fun time also but the setting is very quiet and atmospheric and would be a great place to celebrate...

Stayed here for 4 nights in April, and had the little cottage (near the entrance to the estate) to ourselves. Everything here is over the top - beautiful, comfortable, luxurious - from the grounds, to the bed linens, the services and amenities, and of course Alain Ducasse's cuisine. This was definitely a place that we will remember forever.

Gorgeous property and nicely decorated rooms. The service was warm with a tour of 3 rooms in the main house that were available and a quick history lesson of the town & chateau. Be sure to walk through the vegetable gardens and visit the friendly animals who call this home as well. Our only regret was that we did not...

We only had dinner at La Bastide de Moustiers because the hotel was fully booked. The experience was above any expectation, from food to service to wine selection to location.
This is definitely a place where we would return, next time booking very much in advance to stay in the hotel too!

We stayed two nights. The room was lovely and the service was excellent. It was still warm enough for dinner to be served on the beautiful terrace. The food is well prepared and they focus on ingredients from the large "kitchen" garden. The hotel is a small exclusive oasis.

Somewhat of a long review, but because our stay made such an impression. La Bastide de Moustiers combines simple elegance with charm, quietude, class... and a wonderful Alain Ducasse inspired Michelin-rated restaurant.
My wife and I and our traveling companions began the day with a drive through the 700 meter deep Gorges de Verdon (also referred to as the Grand...
