Under new management, this small hotel is a gem. Tarascon is an excellent base for travels out into Provence with easy access to Pont du Gard and other sites. The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean. The excellent breakfast at the large dining table with other guests is charming. The only small complaint I have is the wifi wasn't strong... More

I, too, stayed in this hotel and this town in May, 2011 and agree fully with ILUS. There is nothing about Tarascon or "Hotel de Provence" to attract or charm anyone as both are very poor. Our front-facing room in this worn-down hotel from 80 years ago was large--a suite with a sunroom in fact--but very old, worn out (including... More

Both Tarascon and the Hotel de Provence are hugely disappointing. Tarascon is an old, desolate town, and the noxious odors from the papermill and the slaughterhouse are so strong that they are nauseating. There are no decent restaurants, and the area, including neighboring Beaucaire, is depressed and dirty. The name of the hotel does not connote Provence at all--not even... More

My friend and I had a twin bedded room with a terrace. We spend three enjoyable nights there. Very close to excellent restaurants that Pascal recommended and to the train station. Good value for the money. More

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel de Provence. It was a delight to be welcomed with genuine warmth and friendliness. French and international travellers will feel perfectly at ease here. The spacious comfortable rooms are complemented by beautifully decorated public areas including a sunny sitting room overlooking the front balcony. Tarascon has some very good restaurants and makes... More

We almost went to the "Hotel Provencal" by accident! Thank goodness we then stumbled across Hotel de Provence. Run by a very nice couple, with a great breakfast. Our room was very bright and big and clean, with a new bathroom, A/C which was essential when we were there (>35C). I wasn't wild about Tarascon, but this hotel was great. More

This is the place to meet Provence. Two young people, Pascal and Marie, gave us the best of Tarscon by the room, the beds, the lobby, the breakfast and the service. As we entered, Pascal gave us the best recommendations of good restaurant, sites to visit and the way to Frederic Mistral's home. What can you ask for, more. 2... More

Positives – Central location from where the whole town of Tarascon can easily be covered by foot. Managed by a very friendly, courteous English speaking couple. Reasonably big room and bathroom with a proper bath tub. Negatives – amenities in the room very limited – felt more like a lower end budget hotel room. Our room was noisy. We stayed... More

This hotel was one of the nicest I stayed in the South of France. The room was clean comfortable and elegantly decorated. Breakfast was wonderful. The hosts make a big effort for your stay to be enjoyable... I highly recommend this hotel More

The hotel is a small, charming Provencal hotel. Our room was a nice size and comfortable just off a cozy sitting area at the end of the stairs. The owners were friendly and very helpful. They recommended an excellent restaurant that served the local cuisine at a very reasonable price. They also suggested several villages to visit nearby. Overall, the... More
