The room smelled like burned hair and the shower did not drain properly. The hotel was nice and had a great location and breakfast. However if you book your hotel on this site you will not get any type of compensation for problems with your stay.

In town to watch the Springfield Cardinals for the weekend and the University Plaza made it easy, comfortable and enjoyable... Start each morning with a terrific breakfast, utilize the pool and treadmill, then walk to the game. Rooms are clean, service is great. Will be back later in the season!

Hotel is great. Staff is very friendly. I have been going there for 5 years and I see the same staff over and over. That is always a good sign! Love the doorman/bellhop! First impressions are everything and he is the best.

The Springfield Symphony held a afterglow reception in the atrium of University Plaza Hotel on Saturday May 12, 2012. I had stayed out by the airport a few times and got tired of having nothing beyond the basic stuff to do. I really enjoyed this hotel, is has a good staff, good rooms and only 3 blocks from downtown. I'll be going back to it when i am in town.

I recently attended the Heart Ball at the UNIVERISTY PLAZA Convention Center. They had a great location for the reception in the lobby ....a superior size ballroom and then another side-room for their silent auction and gaming. The food and staff were both excellant.
