We had a great 2 nights in one of the new cabins. Had everything we needed & the staff was very attentive & helpful. Had hoped to fish the Yellowstone-but it was blown up...so we visited Nelson's Spring Creek & had good luck fishing there. (You have to reserve a space to fish) Dinner was great...we weren't super hungry &... More

We're glad you were able to join us and could stay in one of our Absaroka Deluxe cabins. These cabins are great for families or anyone who just likes to spread out a bit more. Sorry you weren't able to fish the Yellowstone, the end of June or early July is usually the earliest. We're happy you could fish anyway,... More

The Lodge is at a wonderful location, just outside of Livingston off Rte 89 on the way to Gardiner and the NE entrance to Yellowstone Park between mile 38 and 39. It is on a bluff overlooking the Yellowstone River. I saw deer across the river in a field each of the nights I was there! The view across to... More

We do have a great location. Deer are common, sometimes you can see llamas running around too (not to mention ground squirrels!). Our Absaroka Deluxe cabins do have TV in them, and yes, there is always the Cutthroat Lounge. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and meals while here, and thanks for your compliments! More

Everything about the dinner at the lodge was truly fantastic- the wine list, the quality and variety of the food, the presentation and the service. The only reason for the 4 stars (and not 5) is that the cabins didn't impress us at all, especially for what we paid (est. $160/night). Great views of the river but smelled musty and... More

This cabin is between Livingston and Gardiner - out in the middle of nowhere. It is the best place in the area! The cabin is clean and it is a perfect spot for a romantic getwaway or just hanging out with friends & family. Along with the mountain scenery, the Yellowstone River is right behind the cabin making a peaceful... More

The stay was fantastic. Not a single thing could have been better. Great staff, great food, great views. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and visit again. It was a lovely weekend getaway for my boyfriend and I. A short drive over from Bozeman and a stone's throw from Livingston.

We're glad that you were able to visit us for your weekend getaway. Coming in the early Spring is always a good time to visit. We often like to have Spring and Fall specials for just this occasion. Not too far from Bozeman, and a nice drive from Billings. Thanks again!! More

YVL is the perfect get away ! We flew into Bozeman on a Thursday and flew out on Sunday. We rented a car from the airport and were on our way! YVL was ideally located in Livingston. We spent a day touring Yellowstone National Park, which by the way, is incredible! The next day we went Fly Fishing 8 miles... More

It sounds like you had a great time on your fishing trip. We're always happy to help arrange your vacations activities like fly fishing trips and willing to give advice for your Yellowstone day trips. The stretch between Livingston and the north gate of Yellowstone is very sparse on decent dining facilities. Our host at the near-by RV Park provided directions to the Lodge. The sign is obscure and the lodge facilities looked very basic. The restaurant is buried in the rear in an outdoor basement level. After that it is all good! A delightful... More

This little gem was suggested to me by a local and what a terrific place. The cabins are clean, quiet and close enough to the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park to get you into the Lamar Valley shortly after sunup without difficulty. It's also far enough from Gardiner to escape the crowds and noise that comes with them. Unwinding... More

I stayed for 4 nights and found the hospitality to be perfect. The large breakfast was a great way to start each day before long hikes. The dinners that the resturant serves were outstanding and would highly recommend stopping if only just to have dinner. YVL was a great relaxing place to stay and would highly recommned it.

My wife and I stayed one night on our way out of Yellowstone. We were famished from a day of hiking, wildlife-watching and very little food, so cardboard would've tasted good. But our meal was truly fantastic. We enjoyed a wonderful 4-course dinner over a good bottle of wine. We were both elated to stumble upon such high-quality food in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
We're a small, off-the-beaten-path collection of contemporary cabins and one exceptional five-star gourmet restaurant, tucked along the banks of the Yellowstone River on a ranch style property in the Paradise Valley of Montana. Our passions: Falling asleep to the sound of the river (we've also got a weak spot for high-count linens, fly-fishing, and microbrews—you'll see.), anything locally grown (if Chef Marcos prepares it, it's good) and showing off Yellowstone National Park (and the Valley's other endless outdoor opportunities). With our local knowledge, upscale amenities, and taste for both fine food and outdoor adventure, we're a natural base for your Yellowstone-area experience. ... more   less
