This hotel is low in cost so the expectations should also be set very low. It is a functional place that is conveniently located. But it's not a hotel you would recommend to those with 3 star or higher standards.

Where else can you get a room for $30 in Tahoe mid-winter? Clean, LOTS of hot water, and an effective heater. Yes, I miss the fancy bedding of an upscale hotel, but with the money we saved we had an amazing meal across the street at the Crystal Bay Steak and Lobster House (which I HIGHLY recommend).
