Good value. Well worth the money. We had a clean room with engineered wood floor and fairly new furnishings, including a desk. Mattresses had soft spots, but we found enough support to sleep well. Mattresses are the only thing furnishing-wise that I see any reason to upgrade. Pillows were decent. I appreciated the ‘old-school’ linens (3 large cotton flat sheets - one tucked in for bottom and blanket encased between the other 2 - no yucky bedspread or comforter). Room temp good and consistent. It’s a drive-up motel configuration so impossible to avoid noise from folks passing by and unloading. Otherwise, no noise from rooms above and adjacent. I always have white-noise with me and it was plenty. Bathroom updated and clean. Our room had toilet and tub in enclosed space and it was a little tight. Nice size vanity and mirror in room. Might be difficult for a large person to navigate. It took a very long time to get hot water, which was plentiful once it arrived. It was sad watching so much precious water going down the drain in the desert. Only 2 bath towels for a 2 bed room so I guess you have to ask if need more. Towels were good quality. No frig, microwave or coffee, but the restaurant in the Gambling Hall is ‘cafe’ good. Large portions and consistent quality. Not everything is excellent, but we’ve found burgers and fries and breakfast to always be excellent. CASINO - I personally love it. Smoky, as are most in Laughlin (Aquarius has a non-smoking area). Good selection of newer machines and excellent collection of oldies in a space where it’s hard to get lost and easy to find your friends. So, small-ish.

This was the second hotel I stayed at during this visit and after my Tropicana experience, The Pioneer is the only place I'll stay at while visiting Laughlin. It was cheaper, closer to everything, cleaner, more up to date, and just an overall better experience.

Stayed here 4 years ago and it was pretty good, cheap and no charge for the dog, so this year we booked online for $49 a night. The hotel said it was pet-friendly on the web site and no where on the site could I find a pet cleaning fee of $75. Checked in and told about the fee, which I thought at first was refundable if your dog didn’t make a mess, but after all paid up, was told it’s non-refundable. Also no fridge, microwave, coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. No free coffee in reception either. Very limited cable channels (maybe a dozen). Exterior of the hotel and Casino is very run down. Also you can’t get to the full river walk without leaving the property via the front parking lot and then walking through the Edgewater Casino. On the positive it was clean. Never will we stay here again!

Originally I would of said a great stay but when you have homeless and meth addicts being put up in rooms next to us and bothering us on the pool deck, disrespectful of others by smoking in non smoking pool area, wearing full jeans in the hot tub because he has no suit. Encountered 3 men at least that were breaking rules and making us feel uncomfortable and other guests as well we’re not happy and left as well. So sad was a nice place to go now not feeling too good about the stay. Paid for a relaxing vacation and not to worry about some user bugging me saying he’s trying to pick up a sugar MoMA the other night at the bar and thinks it’s ok, telling us how he failed drugs testing for Harrahs as his roommate uses meth not him but was in the same room so that’s why he failed. OMG REALLY!!! Pioneer please remove people who don’t respect other visitors and follow the rules.

Location is good but the staff will do a lot of tricks to get as much money as they could, my reservation was mistakenly started at 10 March instead of the actual time of arrival at 12 for 3 nights, they refused even to credit the night of the 12 so when I had to pay a full amount again because they refused to refund any money beside adding an additional $75 for an extra dog and an extra $75 deposit though I had a damage insurance was ending that I had to pay around $800 for 3 nights and their manager didn’t even Shaw any concern, for sure will never recomend that hotel to anyone or come back again, beautiful location but very unfriendly staff

We picked the pioneer in loughlin for the cost and no resort fees, and to be honest when we last visited loughlin last year it was our favourite casino of the night. Its such an old school casino with all the modern and classic games. The rooms was very basic , and you wouldn't want to stay for a week but they did the job. The beds was very comfortable. If I had any complaints it would be the walls was very thin. I could hear next door snoring. But overall very happy.

It’s always sad to find people that don’t care much, guests and staff. Dog lovers hideout for sure. And that they do sneaking them in so the hotel doesn’t get the $75 to deep clean a room which you know never happens. Check under the bed and see if you see evidence of a DEEP CLEAN after a dog was in the room. Front staff were great on check in and carefree on check out when it was brought to her attention from 2 patrons regarding barking dogs and dogs being snuck inside a room. Sink didn’t drain what a surprise. Tub drain had last visitors shampoo bottle caps in it. Cleaned eh????? Filthy under the beds. Not a carpet floor so it’s easy to see the hotels cleaning policy. Noisy walk by human traffic which is not a hotels fault as people are clueless after midnight till morning. The price is good for the value of the room if it was cleaned and totally functional. People with dogs should have their own hotels only because they can’t control them and look after them as they should in public settings. Not everyone wants licked n sniffed or to share their dinner with them.

The rooms are basic without Coffee or Refrigerator. Quiet, Clean and fairly secured with security. Several areas have been renovated; yet needs further upgrades. Great friendly staff. Casino is somewhat eclectic and reminiscences of yesteryear!! Reasonable Priced!!
