We stayed at this hotel in room 18 for one night, if you don't like haunted places it's not for you, the room was clean the sheets were lovely and soft, just could have done with a few extra touches, like a bedside lamp, a hairdryer. As for the ghosts I felt one, I looked up when I heard a... More

Walking in off the street you feel like you have just entered an old western movie. The bar is picture perfect with the huge mirror and old bar stools and the staff is so welcoming and friendly. There is no TV in the room, which is exactly perfect to complete your Virginia City experience, and the rooms have been beautifully... More

My husband and I read reviews about this hotel and it was obvious that it wasn't a place for everyone. I would advise anyone to do their research and read the reviews before you go to a hotel. I loved the idea of it being haunted, but unfortunately didn't get any visits! We loved the place! Great rooms. We stayed... More

Stayed at this hotel for the 2011 Camel Races. I had spent a night there earlier in the summer. In my two stays at this hotel I have had NONE of the problems experienced by several other reviewers. The Silver Queen Hotel is an old historic hotel built in 1876, and is right in the center of town. It's NOT... More

We stopped at Va City on our way to Yosemite. The bartender at the front desk was rude and screamed that our card was declined when they had misentered a number and it wasn't our fault. After checking in, and carrying our luggage up 3 flights of stairs, we found the room to be quite dingy and the toilet was... More

The hotel is a step back in time and a treat to stay at! The rooms are small but comfortable, but don't expect any amenities. The beds are comfortable, but there is no TV, airconditioner and for the ladies a hair dryer. The bathrooms are very small. But the room was clean and the view is amazing! Ask for a... More

It was our second trip to the Silver Queen, the first time the weather was much cooler and the room seemed much cleaner and better cared for. I suspect what has happened is the owner(s) have decided to leverage the room rates for as high as they can get without reinvesting in the building, hotel & bar sections. The place... More

We stayed here while in town visiting for a wedding. It's a historic building where rooms are supposed to be haunted. They tout that the stay is like being there in 1800s but the rooms look like they had been somewhat updated until the 70s and then they just stopped. We stayed in a room with a full size bed... More

This Hotel was more than I expected for a 1870's hotel. My husband and I loved it. We stayed in room 18. It is very creepy and beautiful all at the same time. We had a restless night due to the constant temperature changes and crazy dreams, but that could of been from the redbulls we drank during our ghost... More

I booked this trip last minute in hopes of a very casual, quiet visit to a historic town. After reading several reviews, I decided upon the Silver Queen. I called them direct to book as they do not offer online booking. The booking experience was pleasant and personal, as I would expect from a small town that relies on tourism... More
