We stayed here for three nights while walking across America, on The Great American Walkabout. The managers were so cool, we spent a lot of time hanging out and talking. They took us out to American Flats, a locals only kind of secret, that really made our trip. They told us some of the Virginia City History, and recommended some... More

What a complete dump. 1. Window so dirty could not see out. 2. Heater broken and covered in dust / fluff. 3. Toliet not bolted to floor and wobbled. 4. Chest of draws - one draw missing, one draw stuck and the other draw hanging off. 5. No soap or shampoo provided in room. 6. Television so dusty it smelt... More

Had eagerly looked forward to a return visit, this time taking friends who had heard me rave about this hotel for a year. I didn't know ownership/management had changed. Arrived late at night; in fact about 1 a.m. Rooms were ready as promised and we were thankful heat had been turned on, so nice and cozy. Checkout six hours later... More

Made a reservation 3 months ago and confirmed it last Monday. Was assured we had a room (#13). When we arrived to check-in Saturday the office was locked and no one around. We waited for an hour and half before manager showed up with beer in hand. We were informed there were no vacancies. After some exchange she says, "what do you... More

If it's an ultra high-tech modern "big city" hotel you are seeking, this is not for you. But, if you want to feel real at home and comfortable in a place that's suited to the "feel" of that special Comstock era, the Virginia City Motel is the place for you! Wonderfully situated right on the main street of Virginia City... More

This is a basic motel with clean rooms and very friendly management. Coffee was good, and on Sunday the muffins were very good.

Don't expect five star accommodations here. This is Virginia City for Pete's sake. Expect a clean room, friendly staff and prices which are about half of what you'd pay in Reno or Carson City. And quiet... did I mention quiet? This place is by far the quietest place I have ever stayed. The only drawback is location. It is kind... More

We looked at most of the hotels/motels in VC and decided to stay at the VCM due to the friendliness of the manager. Although this is probably not considered a 5-star joint, the room was as clean as any we stayed in and we were (without a doubt) treated with 5-star courtesy. The manager was BY FAR the nicest person... More

We stayed at the VCM on a recent visit to see "Wild Will" Strickland at Sergeant Major's Silver Dollar Saloon." The rooms are clean and comfortable with a movie motif in each. It was a little like staying over at grandma's, lots of soft pillows, slightly wash worn, but clean smelling linen. We were traveling with 2 dogs, one small,... More
