I've been fortunate enough to have stayed in some of the greatest five star hotels in the world in my business travels and I can say without hesitation that the Exeter Inn of Exeter, NH is in the same class. From the room to the service to the food to the people, everything was top-notch. The staff always made me... More

The Exeter Inn was absolutely lovely. I was travelling in a walking cast with a broken foot and they made sure to put me in a very comfortable and pleasant room on the first floor near reception. The staff was wonderful and personable and helped me with my bags. One of my favorite things is the wam chocolate chip cookies... More

The February Blizzard was expected to be heavy with snow and high winds. If true it usually resulted in electric outages and no heat. My wife and I decided to retreat to The Inn. Our experience was excellent, The first encounter with the staff was very cordial and the room was clean and comfortable. The assistance of James the Manager... More

The original wood is beautifully maintained in this old building. The bar/restaurant is beautiful. We took advantage of the $5 continental breakfast for hotel guests and the fresh fruit was exceptional - especially considering it was February. Fresh melon, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, etc. There was also a nice assortment of muffins, bagels, etc. Definitely worth the $5. Our room was... More

This is not my first visit to the Exeter Inn and I suspect it won't be my last. As with my last visit, unfortunate family circumstances brought me to the Inn. We had a family funeral the weekend of the Nemo snowstorm. As we live two hours away, we decided to come up in advance of the storm. I called... More

The Exeter Inn is a very cool place for those of us who love history, and historic hotels. I read a review below where the reviewer suggested that the wood was "just old" because it had not been refinished and that the place smelled of something that they could not identify. This, even though they claimed to love historical places.... More

I recently stayed in room 208. A king suite with fireplace and sitting room with 2 32" TV's. Heat worked fine, bed was comfortable and water pressure and warm water worked great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Reasonably $$ continental breakfast. Internet worked well. Had an elevator at the property. Plenty of parking. No complaints here.

We stayed at the Inn the second week in January. After reading reviews I was a little concern about it, but I was pleasantly surprise. We had a king room in the third floor. The room wasn't huge but it wasn't too small. The bed was comfortable and we really enjoy the cookies. A few negatives have to be there... More

This is the email I sent the manager: I arrived from Los Angeles to your inn on the evening of Friday, January 4th at about 10:00PM with my husband and two teenagers. We had two rooms; fireplace king and queen double. Never before have I felt so unwelcome by a reception person. The girl at the desk was simply rude.... More
