Due to a very ill family member I had to change my travel plans. The Chieftan Motor Inn charged me $125 despite the fact that I cancelled a week ahead of time! Be very careful before booking a room here.

This place was alright. We stayed here because it was much cheaper than other places in the area and because of the free drop-off and pick-up at hiking trails nearby. We really enjoyed our stay at the Chieftain. It was particularly nice to have the grassy area out back, with a gorgeous view of the Connecticut River. We recently stayed there on a family vacation. It was a decent place to sleep. I would recommend that the place needs some updates including the shower. The breakfast was nice. I would recommend it if you ned a place to stay in Hanover.

We've stayed twice, with kids, and both times got a great service indeed. The owners really care and this counts! Perhaps the bathrooms might get a bit of refurbishment, but other than that the place is great and we surely shall come again!

Very friendly family-owned motor inn on the Connecticut River. The owners were very concerned about our comfort and very accommodating. Husband was hiking in area and I felt comfortable staying there alone. Nice swimming pool, outdoor tables, fridge, microwave and beautiful view. I did not use them, but they had bikes, canoes, etc. available.

We booked an overnight stay at this establishment, and called to cancel with more than 48 hours notice. They informed us that they still had to charge us 50% of the room rate for that one night. The best thing about the Chieftain is that the manager (presumably the owner) was great. The walls seemed to be paper thin and the crying children next door may as well have been in the room with us.
