I had the opportunity to take a before "season" getaway for a long weekend in Cape May and wanted to stay across from the beach and near whatever restaurants were open before the seasons weekends began. The Macomber fit nicely. The standard Jacobsen room on the second floor was spacious with a private bath with double shower and dresser, wardrobe... More

My girlfriend and I went to check in, to learn that they lost our reservations, but they gave us a different room and charged us for the second room additionally. We walked on to find our towels smelled used and were damp. On Top of this, we found a small black hair on my pillow (not beard or scalp). We... More

Fond memories of our stay at the Macomber. The Hotel is comfortable and friendly. We could see the mini golf from one of our windows. The room was clean and bright. Hotel is right opposite the beach and convenient to everything. Kids loved the beach and arcade across the street and my daughter often recalls how well she and her... More

We stayed for two nights here in the middle of May. Pros: The room was very spacious and clean. It was right across from the beach, and very easy to find. The staff were friendly, we had no major problems. Cons: The bed was very "bouncy", everytime one of us moved, the other would get bounced around. The en-suite bathroom... More

I don't know if it's true but we did have a few eeerie things happen during our stay. It is a lovely little hotel that is very affordable across from the beach and boardwalk in old Cape May. Whether you find it haunted or not, you will enjoy your stay. More

We spent a few fall days in this lovely quaint hotel. Our very clean room was on the second floor with a lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean. If you've forgotten anything, such as shampoo, etc. just ask at the desk and it will be provided. The hotel employees were all extremely helpful and cordial. There is a wonderful breakfast/lunch restaurant... More

They take your credit card information & have you sign a waiver stating if you smoke in the room you'll be charged an extra $100.00 above the cost of the room. Then when you don't smoke in the room, you still get charged the extra $100.00 when your credit card statement comes in a month later. When you try to speak... More

Cute hotel with cozy rooms and a great location. There were some quirks to the rooms, but that is to be expected in a period hotel. Hauling suitcases to the top floor was a workout. While we were warned of the situation, were we unprepared for the number of flights to get to the top. One large suitcase was a... More

This is a very nice 100 year old boutique hotel facing the beach, but we were put on the fourth floor without any warning ahead of time that there were no elevators. We had to drag our suitcases up 7 flights of stairs. f I had known ahead of time I would have packed a back pack for the two... More

We stayed at the Macomber in June. Were upgraded to a double queen room which was lovely. The old fashioned sink in the room worked out well for us because one could be showering while another of us was doing make-up or hair. Our room included a small fridge and coffee pot. The front porch provided rocking chairs, round tables... More
