My first impression of this hotel was scary- i had the shuttle pick us up at the princeton junction and a dissheveled man appeared in the shuttle to pick us up- he introduced himself as the General Manager of the hotel and talked the whole way about his education and why he likes to drive the van for extra customer... The Chauncey Hotel and Conference Center is beautifully situated on the grounds of the Educational Testing Service in Princeton. Though we were not there as part of a conference, the hotel offered us a quiet break from the busyness of downtown, while being just minutes away from both the University and the downtown shopping area. The dining options at the... More

Interesting location, out in the middle of nowhere. Asked for a King bed room and got a double queen. The furniture is dated and over-sized for the room. Old Tube TV. 10+min drive to downtown Princeton. Breakfast doesn't start until 7am. More

Here on business, for the most part the staff is pleasant except for the guy running the resturant on the second floor. He seemed put out that we were there. We were standing around like dummies not knowing if we should just sit down, my husband saw the host, said hello and he ignored us. Then my husband said OK... More

The rooms are very dated and have a strange odor. The staff is indifferent if not rude. The grounds while pretty if you enjoy being on a corporate campus, are remote. This really isn't a hotel per se. It is what it's name states..."conference center". Not only is it a conference center rather than a hotel, it is primarily for... More

I have been staying at the Chauncey Conference Center and Hotel for a number of years now. I never thought to review this hotel because; 1. It's different than most hotels 2. I've never paid to stay here as I've always been part of a group of educators brought in by ETS to read scholarship applications. So I can't answer... More

Nice rooms, gorgeous grounds, and excellent service. I asked room service to get me lunch outside so I could sit on a bench and enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and they were happy to oblige. They also provide free wireless service, and the signal is strong enough outside so I could actually work in the garden. Bar service was excellent,... More

I recently stayed overnight at the Chauncey Conference Center Hotel for a wedding. The grounds are absolutely lovely, especially for a wedding. The staff were very attentive to our needs and were very pleasant. My room was not ready as I arrived 1 hour early, but was given another room which was ready and also given a goodie bag with... My family (three generations) stayed at the Chauncey for an event at Princeton University. My understanding is that it was not built as a hotel for the public, but as a private conference center for ETS (the company that administers the SAT and other tests) and it is accordingly located in the middle of ETS's enormous campus northwest of the... We stayed there this June with our kids, during Princeton Reunions. Everything right in town was booked, and our other choices were the hotels on Route 1. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. In a beautiful setting at the end of Rosedale road, about ten minutes from the center of Princeton. The grounds are large and park-like. The rooms are... More
