Let me first say that this is a review of Apple Cottage and not the main house. We stayed there in April and would have to say that the setting is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. The breakfasts are also very good. The only issue we had in the cottage was an infestation of insects. We killed about... More

From the moment one arrives at Auberge La Dauphine you feel special. The setting is lovely & just far out of town enough to give you a country feel - yet close enough to go out for a delicious evening meal in the village. The owneres/managers do everything to make your stay a pleasant one.(even as far as lending you their... We recently stayed for one night at Auberge La Dauphine, and found our accommodations spacious and pleasant. We especially enjoyed walking around the property to the pond and gazebo and taking in the view of the mountains that provide a beautiful backdrop. There is no manager on-site after around 6 pm, which meant we had no one to contact about... More

I just had to respond to the comment about there being no manager on-site after around 6 pm. Our managersss lives next to reception and we also live on the property. Every guest is told this on arrival and we make it clear that we are ALL available should they have any difficulties, so I am not sure why this... More

I was hosting friends from Europe after the argus cycle tour & this was the perfect place to relax after the event. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, staff welcoming & friendly. Acorn cottage suited us ladies v well . We could sit outside enjoying the stars, wine, local cheese and bread. We would all go back there . More

La dauphine has a lovely setting, being surrounded by mountain views. The grounds are great for relaxing, whilst the drive into the town is less than 5 minutes. Lovely breakfasts with a good choice, and served effeciently and with a sunny smile! The room was spacious, and comfortable- however it lacked the sophistication of accommodation we have stayed in during previous... More

Definitely recommend staying in Frank over Stellenbosch, it is quaint and beautiful mountain surrounding. Really wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night. Accomodation was a bit more basic than other places we stayed, but room was huge with 2 floors with gallery and grounds were great with rescued animals to keep us entertained! Darnelle was super nice and... More

Auberge La Dauphine is a tranquil retreat in beautiful surroundings, less than 5 minutes by car from Franschhoek. Everyone receives a warm welcome and a service tailored to their needs, which is delivered so discretely and generously that you immediately feel at home. No request is too much trouble, and offers of help come easily and naturally. Everyone smiles. My... More

Had two nights at this B&B in Jan 2012. Lovely location just outside Franschhoek (downside is that it's a bit far to walk into town for supper). Very friendly service, good breakfasts, nice spacious room, pretty garden. It's a B&B rather than a posh hotel, so bear that in mind. The plumbing was a bit quirky but when I mentioned... More

Stayed in apartment 3. Rooms have lovely views and the breakfast was great. Staff were very helpful and efficient. The location is a short car ride from Franshoek main street with lots of restaurant choices. Would recommend as a suitable base for exploring the area. More
