We stayed here for the second part of our Honeymoon, and it could not have been more wonderful. As we were the only guests Linda and Bruce kindly suggested we might want to stay in Vine Cottage. We had booked to stay in Syringa, which was a lovely room, but Vine Cottage had a really intimate feel and was very... More

We recently took a trip to Franschhoek and I manage to secure a booking with L'Auberge Chanteclair via the internet. What a lovely place with excellent, accommodating and helpful hosts. We stayed in The Studio - a private quaint little cottage separate from the main venue. It may not have the heated floors, or the most modern of bathrooms, but... More

After a disastrous experience in Stellenbosch we were delighted to find and be welcomed at Chanteclair. Bruce and Linda looked after us so well and we were spoilt so much it was hard to leave. The rooms are delightful, very clean and tastefully furnished. The grounds and gardens were well kept and the views were stunning. Ideally situated within walking... More

With such a wonderful setting it is not hard to find lots of beautiful places to stay in Franschhoek but our favourite place by far is the magical little Auberge Chanteclair. Its setting has to be one of the most perfect - lovely gardens with lake, stunning views & perfect peace & tranquility yet only a short walk from the... More

My wife and I stayed here on a recent trip to Cape Town and we loved it. It really is the most beautiful place with lovely gardens, lake and pool, really relaxing quiet provate rooms and charming owners who cook an excellent breakfast. Ideally situated for Frankschoek too.

We stayed here for 2 nights - what a wonderful place. Linda and Bruce did so much to make us welcome. We had the Syringa room, with its own terrace, literally 3 steps from the pool with a wonderful view. This is a real oasis of calm with a lovely breakfast outside. We dined one night at Le Bon Vivant... More

Any B and B whose first concern was "where we were eating" (Saturday night) has got it right! Linda and Bruce have the practicals well sorted, a good restaurant phone list and glorious quiet gardens, pool and Jake (golden 4 legs) to keep you company. The rooms are varied but lovely and breakfast was just fabulous. Also, anywhere who simply... More

Staying for 4 nights between Xmas and New Years Eve. Had a wonderful room called Jacaranda, well appointed with nice furnishings and the size of a suite in a "normal" hotel. Sumptous breakfast, don't forget to try the homemade abricot jam!

What a fabulous place to stay, we stayed for three nights, we had a room with our own terrace on which to enjoy the fabulous views, which truly are stunning, all that can be heard are the birds and the breeze in the trees, a true haven. The gardens are very enjoyable and a credit to the gardener. Bruce and... More

We booked this guest house because of a recommendation and we can really recommend it too. You feel like staying in your own little "Provence" with the beautifully decorated French style room, the huge, colourful graden with lots of flowers, birds and even a lake. The new managers (from Scotland) are very friendly and they did everything to make our... More
