I enjoyed staying at Onse Rus. The staff were very considerate and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. I had a bit of trouble sleeping due to the church bell that rings every 15 minutes! The room was however very comfortable.

Rustic, historic compound with a great old-time atmosphere, run by a team that put their heart in their work. Rooms basic but spotless - basic in this case that's what is needed to perserve the historic buildings and atmosphere. plentiful breakfast catering to our dietary idiosynchrasies... Lisa and Di made for the most interesting evening conversation in the cosy common... More

Good location in town-centre. Enthusiastic hosts. Musquitos posed a big problem for sleeping (probably originating in the many water bassins all across town kept to water the gardens). It was funny to see a television movie about Prince Albert just a few days after our stay.

This is the third time we stayed here. Lisa is the best host and will gladly assist with planning dinners and tips for exploring the surroundings. Breakfast is served in the garden and she makes the best French toast.

We enjoyed verry much our stay with Lady Di and daughter. The wellcome coffy and cake were superb ! We slept well and that breakfast in the garden is hard to forget. It is a very good location as a starting point for several trips which can be made. Only a few steps away are two very good restaurants so... More

We recently stayed for two nights in this great guset house. Owner Lisa went out of her way to make us feel welcome in her spacious guest house. Our adjoining suites (each with its own bathroom with shower) had a shared lounge and small kitchenette, opening onto the garden with pool which was welcome in the December heat. A wonderful... More

A great place, a wonderful welcome. The town was in the midst of an anti-fracking movement with the government and the oil companies; we got caught up in it. We stayed overnight, en route, visited the pharmacy, the weaver co-op, and several small stores on the main. A bit cool yet to use their pool.

Lovely authentic Karoo feel - historic, thatched house in main road. Our suite was spacious, clean and simply but comfortably furnished, with self catering facilities. It had both an outside entrance which it shared with one other unit, and a door leading into the lovely central garden area with pool. Owner Lisa was warm and very welcoming. We felt at... More

Want a lovely find. We had to do a lot of extra driving to come to Prince Albert during our 3-week drive of South Africa but it was worth it. And the Onse Rus was a lovely part of it. Charming, HUGE room. Lovely service. Very enjoyable breakfast. Good value. Cold in the winter, but that was normal. Loved it.

We felt like being in a place long gone. Great athmosphere, tranquil, with a superb garden, where they will serve you dinner from a nearby first class restaurant. You should arrive in time to enjoy the pool and the garden. Away from the routine path, you find the true athmosphere of Africa. It's also suitable for wheelchairbound people like me,... More
