For the amount I paid for the required tour, I had hoped for a bit more than this. It looked like it might have been very nice at one time but had since run down. We stayed in one of the cottages buildings. The walls were so thin I could hear someone using the bathroom in another room. I could... More

Staff never once smiled, our cottage was shabby, not very clean, towels stiff and gray and worse of all under the thin sheet was a stained mattress. Dining room smelled of old oil and food inedible. We love Bhutan, have had delicious meal in roadside cafes and wonderful friendly service everywhere but here. This place needs to either have a... More

This hotel was booked through a travel agent, and the moment we stepped in,realised it was not the place. It was noon time, and nobody bothered at the reception.the staff was totally indifferent. The room was very small ,and there was no water in the bathroom.we checked out ,as even after an hour, there was no one to respond. The management seriously needs to pull up... I was in Punakha to attend the Chakrasamvara blessings near Punakha Dzong, and this was the hotel we stayed at. A bit far from the venue, so you need to have a car. The room was rather basic and cozy, not enough storage. The toilet although clean felt a bit off, can't really put a finger on it though; maybe... More

The hotels in Bhutan arent the best however I can usually find one positive that makes it unique and special, I struggle to find positives here, appart from the hot water, view and the woman was friendly in the gift shop. This was the worst hotel we stayed in during our visit to Bhutan. My partner requested we change hotels before... More

The hygiene overall not up to standard. Stain in kettle, hard towels with stain, dust in cups.... hot water seems adequate but the shower drain was blocked, forming a lake in the shower tube, and even over flowed outside.... heating and lighting adequate. But wi-fi service was disappointting. We managed to use for a while then they said the system... More

We requested another hotel, but in Bhutan, you don't have a lot of say as it is worked into your travel plan. The hotel is made up of a series of blocks of rooms. The view from the valley is great - overlooking the Punakha Valley. There had been some attempt at modinisation of the rooms (especially the bathroom) but... More

Oh dear! Previous reviewers have described this place perfectly. We too had requested another place and ended up here. Our guide was less than enthusiastic and rightly so. Nothing is up to scratch. Room, furniture, food, service expertise. Just glad to move on.

Hotel Zangto Pelri is located on the side of a hill overlooking Punakha Valley. The hotel looks nice from the outside. There are cottage style rooms that are nicely painted with balconies overlooking the valley. There are also lots of flowers and plants surrounding the rooms. The room was quite basic, but the beds were clean. The towels were stained,... More

Dirty bathrooms, towels, plates, and eating utensils. One person in our group offered to clean the bathroom if they would provide the bleach. Inconsistent "amenities" in the rooms; some had coffee pots, others had cups, and none had tea/coffee. Some rooms had a table lamp; others didn't. A miniature soap bar was provided as well as little plastic packs of... More
