Just back from 3 nights stay at cheetah plains, spent in luxury and standard rooms there is not much difference but luxury felt more private especially the in-suit bathroom and a deck viewing the bush, over service was very good, game viewing was excellent and thanks to Doctor the guide who know where to find the leopards. saw all the... We really enjoyed this trip, i went with two friends and we had two separate rooms. Our travel agent had timed it perfectly so we arrived and then went nearly immediately to look for game. We had an amazing time, saw tons of animals, loved the food, pretty flawless. There is not a lot of activities between game drives so... More

We spent 3 nights at Cheetah Plains and had one of our best safari experiences ever. The food, accommodation and service were all excellent. Each night we had dinner at a different venue – the dining room, boma and around the pool. (The pool overlooks a dam that has crocs and hippos in it). On the game drives we didn’t... More

Had 2 nights and 4 safari excursions--saw "the big 5 animals" during the first 2 outings. "Doctor" our guide was amazing and a great tracker. We saw a pride of lions with 2 very small cubs just resting in the grass after a big meal very close to our vehicle; many Cape buffalo, rhino, elephants, giraffe, zebra, hippo, leopard, different... Well worth the dirt track drive to get there (we self drove from jo'burg with no problems). We were welcomed & made to feel very relaxed & at home. We stayed in a deluxe room which had possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! The outside shower was also great & made for a great experience. The food... More

If you are looking for an exciting Safari experience; this is the place. Action packed activities, great smorgasbord food choices, small intimate camp. We even saw a Leopard from the Lodge, via their spot lighted area across a pond.

Thank you so much for your review. We are very happy that you enjoyed all aspects of the lodge. That open area infront of the lodge is also one of my favourite spots, especially when the spotlight is on during dinner time in the boma, there is always something to see out there. We hope to see you again soon,... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cheetah Plains. The entire team made us feel welcomed upon arrival until the sad day when we had to leave. We selected Cheetah Plains as the camp size seemed fairly small and it didn't feel to touristy or commercial rather. Our rooms were cosy and we appreciated the air conditioning. The outdoor shower had... More

It was truly a great experience and I will highly recommend to anyone looking for a experience of a life time with great friendly staff, excellent cooks and extremely knowledgeable rangers. The grounds are well maintained along with great accommodation. I would suggest avoiding rainy season, as game drives are very dependent on road conditions. Also plan for no less... More
