It has been almost two months from our return from Ivory. This was our first trip to Africa and of course our first safari lodge stay. But this cannot be the norm, and as I have come to know...it was a bit decadent…but a truly wonderful experience. First, it doesn’t matter how nice the accommodations and setting are, if the... More

The only bad part about staying at Ivory Lodge for me was realising that it will be very difficult to find another lodge to match this luxury. Every single detail about this lodge can be described in one word: "perfect". My wife and I eloped there and could not possibly have chosen a better location. The staff went out of... More

We had an amazing weekend in April at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge. The accomodation is amazing and provides any comfort that you could ask for, one small peeve no one asked if we wanted anything particular stocked in the mini bar. The views from the room were stunning and we were privileged to see many sightings whilst relaxing on our... More

I cannot say enough positive things about ivory lodge.  From the moment we arrived, we were treated amazingly.  All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure that you are having an enjoyable stay.  The cottages are gorgeous, definitely a five star experience.  The plunge pool is lovely and we were lucky enough to see... We stayed at Ivory Lodge as the main stop on our honeymoon in August 2012. The settling by the river is really beautiful with a great decking area for breakfast and lunch. The a carte food in the evening could be a bit hit and miss but the meat on the bhoma was really very tasty. Our ranger Benrey was... More

This is our first time in Africa and the only safari/lodge we have been to so we have nothing to compare it to but what we found was from the moment we arrived to the moment we sadly left the lodge we enjoyed every minute on it. Our room: we stayed in the Peregrine suite which is the last suite,... More

We recently stayed at Lion Sands Ivory lodge for 4 nights on our honeymoon and it was the highlight of our trip. The staff could not do enough to help from Charles the security guard, to prudence our maid, Torrence our personal butler and Derrick, to our fantastic Ranger and Tracker Tristan & Tony. Food was excellent with a great... More

How on earth is this safari lodge ranked only 18th out of 40 safari lodges. This place is utterly amazing. I have luckily enough stayed in some amazing locations and hotels and this place has to be up there with the best. This is ultra exclusive, ultra private with first class service. There are 6 villas each with there own... More

This was our 5th safari camp on a 6 week holiday in Africa. So using the other camp experiences as a benchmark I would have to say this lodge does not earn a 5 rating only due to the poor quality of food. We also felt they lacked the special service touches that we experienced elsewhere. This camp has only... More

Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is a special place to visit. The staff are superb, a perfect blend of unsurpassable service where nothing is too much to ask with down to earth warmth and friendliness. The luxury accommodation and communal areas are tastefully decorated to the highest quality. There are only 6 guest lodges at Ivory Lodge, each with its own... More
