Worst food I have had in Ruidoso, NM and that is saying a lot! Ordered a burger and wanted it to be medium and came out a burnt hockey puck. French fires were over done and burnt to a crisp along with the tea tasting like toliet water. The overall atmosphere was terrible, old and very hot with the sun... More

My husband and I arrived on a Friday. We stayed in a 3rd floor room with a balcony. The room was at the far far end of the hotel, far away from the lobby/office. No one else stayed on that end of the hotel. Our room was nice. The lobby you go through to get to the room had furniture... More

Less than Motel 6, but nowhere else to stay. The Good: Location is great! Access couldn't be better. There are really only a couple places one can stay in Alto/Ruidoso for less than $100/night and they are both low quality (Apache Cabins comes to mind). The Bad: Carpets stained and worn; you don't want to walk on it without shoes... More

First of all Ruidoso, NM is one of my favorite places on earth. It is one of the few cool weather pine tree escapes in south NM and west TX. The Swiss Chalet is located about 4 miles from the busy part of Ruidoso, But this is a great hotel if you are wanting to be between the town and... More

I have stayed at the Swiss Chalet Inn many times but it has slowly gone down. It now is in need of being torn down and rebuilt to its original greatness. During my recent visit the motel room was dimly lit, terribly stained carpet, toilet had almost no water pressure , you have to leave one panel of drapes pulled... More

Spacious rooms, but very old and worn furnishings, mattresses were very cheap with paper -thin mattress pads. Indoor pool was warm and fun for the kids. View was nice, location is very close to ski run road. Continental breakfast was about as minimalist as you will ever find. A few low quality packaged pastries and some packets of wal mart... More

We were given a nice, large room. It had two beds and a couch that had a fold out bed. There was lots of space in the room, the beds were comfortable, and the service was exactly as it should be. We had family in another room, and they were able to come hang out in our room because there... More

When I was a child I used to ride by this hotel and think that I wanted to stay there. I finally did, and I was extremely disappointed. The room was relatively clean, but everything else about the hotel was a let-down. The heated indoor pool that was advertised turned out to be unheated. My wife and I wanted to... More

This property is worn and tired. It needs repainting outside and in, carpets worn bare in spots. The lighting in the room was extremely dim. It was hard to tell if the room was clean or not. Bedspread ripped on one bed. Towels very thin. The telephone in the room was broken, with a paper sign on it that they... More

We picked the Swiss Chalet for two nights because they accepted pets, and the descriptions sounded good. However, we were disappointed in the stay. We had a family room, which was very large with a sofa, so it had plenty of room, and the room was very clean. However, the beds were so high, it was uncomfortable getting in and... More
