You only get a great view of the bay of Gansbaai from this hotel/lodge (more like a guesthouse) and a very big room(but you PAY for it x2!). But no WiFi !!! Jacuzzi did not work!!! Very expensive!!! Breakfast nothing special. Check and consult Tripadvisor`s list first.

I was very pleased with my room. Beautiful views across the sea and saw quite a few whales as well. Good free Wifi connection as well. Which seems to be rare outside of Cape Town. Was recommended a local restaurant which was excellent. Had a full english breakfast which was divine.

The B&B Whale Sanct.Lodge has one room with the most unique views out of your bed I ever experienced. This room ORCA is unbelievable large with 2 sides only glass, removable, and 2 sites balcony. + a nice bathroom. The price is max 2500,- Rand/night, depending season and week/weekend. The room next door is SOUTHERN RIGHT, in fact 2 rooms... More

My partner and I booked into this hotel for one night. Initially staff came across polite and friendly, having upgraded to a more spacious apartment on arrival. Although the views are amazing, the service is unbelievably bad, such a shame for a place that has so much potential. It's clear the owner is not on site to make sure his... More

We stayed in the Minke room, a rather small room but with a beautiful view on the seashore (as all the other rooms). We could see the whales just from our window. Staff is very friendly. The restaurant next door presents nice food, with a beautiful view. Chairs were a bit uncomfortable.

It rained the whole day we arrived and was too much to stand outside, so we retreated to our room with perfect sea views and well stocked reasonable priced mini bar. We were able to watch whales in comfort. Next morning we were able to get out and enjoy the stunning views and antics of the whales before returning for... More

Unlike some earlier reviewers we knew where the hotel was and had made a positive decision to spend one night outside our beloved Hermanus, so the location in a quiet and peaceful (rather dull) residential area but with fantastic views across Walker Bay was expected. Also unlike some earlier comments we found the whole establishment to be spotlessly clean and... More

The lodge's location is wonderful as are the rooms but the sadly the staff are really inexperienced and for this owner/management must take responsibility. The bathroom was definately not cleaned prior to our arrival (dirty ring around bath) Breakfast was a great disappointment. Only coffee on offer was instant, the toast was made from very poor quality bread and burnt... More

The location is beautiful and right on the sea. Since it wasn't whale season we practically had the hotel to ourselves (one other room was occupied) which we enjoyed for the peace and quiet. This turned out to the most relaxing part of our trip through S. Africa. The room was large and the patio terrific. We climbed to the... More
