“Pleasant surprise”

After reading a lot of negative comments,I was a little bit afraid to stay at the Anchor Inn. They are doing a lot of renovation,so the halleays ate a bit dusty.The room and bathroom very clean. Not noisy at all. Good Continental breakfast. I would stay here again.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls, Children of all ages-- The Anchor Inn reeks of cigarette smoke from the moment you open the front door. “Dirty,dirty,dirty”

It was horrible, so dirty we went there during the Sandy storm got a room which all of a sudden the rates got higher.Went in to the roomAnd went right back out. What a disgrace. The service is excellent. The receptionist not only checked us in, but he showed us to our room. The sofa bed was already pulled out for us. I was extremely satisfied with this hotel! It was rated by AAA and the rate was the best in the area. The value was excellent. Staff very professional and attentive, hotel was quiet and room was immaculate. Parking was free and quick breakfast fresh. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend.

“bad houskeeping”

Recently stayed in the Anchor Inn for a week in all that time the carpet in my bedroom was not vaccumed and remained in a not very clean condition. Staff very pleaseant! but would not stay there again.

“Smelly, dated and overpriced”

“Recommended only as a last resort”

The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location three blocks from the Bayside train station. If you have business or family in Bayside, I guess it's OK. Otherwise, stay in Manhattan. The continental breakfast at the Adria, down the road, is much better.
