Just back from 5 days at LDIL. Echoing all the good reviews posted here, I'll add that the beachfront cottage is worth the extra cost. Coming and going it's just you, the ocean and distant Praslin on one side, and mature landscaping creates privacy to each cottage; totally different experience than in the "garden". We stayed 2 days in La Digue Island Lodge. The staff is very friendly and the dinners are very good with on Saturday live music. The island is super with the most beautifull beach of the world. The hotel has a shuttle service to the ferry from Paslin.

We loved the location and service. A very friendly hotel with good food and great accommodations. We had our own A framed lodge and a lovely front porch to view the birds. We walked to the anse d'argent for snorkeling and it was the best ..lots of fish,clear warm water and very photogenic beach.

Was there in February this year and had a really wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, accommodation (yellow house) to my expectations as well as the facilities. during our stay on la digue's island lodge we stayed in a really sweet and romantic little yellow house in this hotel. although i wouldn't recommend the really really steep stairway to elderly visitor it was just perfect to us. the rooms are rather small in this little house, but it's more about the atmosphere. maybe somebody find a solution... Take the standard cheap rooms in the complex behind the hotel - but get hold for all the facilities the hotel provides, including the pool and dinner. The hotel has lots of pros - location etc. The dinner is held near the beach - very romantic The pool is nice Bottom line - Best value
