This hotel had a first class location which made it An excellent choice. Whilst the accommodation was quite adequate and the food also do not come here for high-class five-star luxury. Food was a little bit back to the 70s but to be expected as there is simply very little around. Swimming pools were okay but I never understand why... More

We were trully amazed at the standard of service we received at Namib Desert Lodge! The staff, from the Reception through to Manager, were very friendly and professional. The rooms, and the whole lodge for that matter, is clean and well kept and maintained. We will definately stay there again and we will advise anyone and everyone to stay there.

We were part of an organized tour group that stayed at the Namib Desert Lodge. Our group was greeted upon our arrival and provided some brief information about checking in and getting to our assigned rooms. No sooner we got to our room, our luggage was delivered, despite the large size of our group. Our bungalow had a patio view... More

What a stunning setting. It is a large lodge so you hope it blends with the surrounding and this does. Being several kilometres off the road it is obviously not visible from there but the size of the place is never visibly apparent as it is spread out low bungalows amongst sufficient vegetation to keep it hidden. However, once again... More

Thank you very much for your review on Namib Desert Lodge (and for visiting four of our lodges). According to our lodge team individual travelers enjoy special attention in order to make them feel welcome just as much as group travelers; this refers all the more to guests who stay 3 nights. As groups usually leave earlier than individuals, the... More

Paradise in the Desert What a wonderful place to be. Bird life is magnificent, the right place for Bird lover to be! A real Oasis in the Desert at the foot of the Petrified Dunes with good Hiking trails along the Dunes. We had been welcome on arrival by a young friendly lady, a porter was ready and waiting at... We stayed at Namib Desert Lodge for 2 nights. The rooms were nicely decorated, but they are cold!! And you can't turn on the heat during certain hours. Even when you are allowed to, it turns off within minutes. Staff is often trainees, who don't always know what is going on. We asked for a wake up call at 4:45... More

This WAS a pleasant 'find', although big and catering for big groups, we found Namib Desert Lodge well run, wonderfrul personal service, and location beautiful at the foot of massive petrified dunes. once there, we decided to not go the 60kms to Sossiesvlei, but to spend our day walking the trail at the hotel, and in the afternoon a game/dune... Very good managed lodge. Good breakfast and dinner buffet. Perfect place to relax from travel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good place to stay for Soussusvlei even if it's 60 km away - Road conditions are quite good. Try to get a bungalow whith dune view and not to the inner campus.

We booked this location to be close to Sesrium and he famed Dune 45. The lodge offered a nice pool and bar for relaxing. The buffet dinner was ok but not outstanding. Because it is still a two hour drive to dune 45 we departed at 6:15 AM. The lodge offered only a cold breakfast at tis time. The t... More

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We do not know what went wrong in your case - knowing that most guests want to leave early for Sossusvlei, the Namib Desert Lodge does offer cold breakfast as from 5 am, and warm breakfast as from 6 am. Many guests prefer to have a breakfast picnic on the dunes and therefore make... More

This is quite a big lodge with more than 70 rooms beautifully located close to petrified tunes- so due to it´s size .there a lots of groups. Most rooms have great views either of petrified tunes or plain marshland. There is a nice selfguided walk towards the dunes well worth walking- but not very frequented........ Of course it doesn´t provide... More
