We visited Scribner Hollow Lodge this Presidents day weekend and absolutely loved it. The property is not new but it is well maintained. The rooms were spotless and bed linen was super clean. bathroom was small but very clean. The "Grotto" was unique. Can be claustrophobic for some but kids loved it. Later in the evening it became more adult... More

I took my wife and two kids up to the catskills this past November just to get away for a weekend. I used this site to research reviews of hotels in the area. While I did come across some negative reviews of the scribner there were also some very glowing reviews. I travel a lot for work and I have... More

I had been up to this hotel quite a few years ago, so based on familiarity, decided to check it out again last weekend for the opening of Hunter Mountain (with my new skis in hand for their first test drive). Though the skiing was limited, we enjoyed our stay at Scribner Hollow. Our room was spacious and amply rustic.... More

The best thing about this hotel is the view. Awesome hills especially during the fall when the leaves change color. Everything else is just okay or not acceptable. They charge more than 150 $ per room and per night for a regular weekend, however, I would maximum pay 75 $. Breakfast is not even included and they only serve it... More

Booked a room for the Irish Festival at Hunter this summer. Upon entering the establishment it had a very nice ambiance, the room on the other hand is a different story. The rooms look like they have not been updated in two decades, water stains on the wall, cobb webs thru out the room, missing bathroom tiles, and the screen... More

We stayed for four nights and loved the staff and accommodations. We thought the indoor pool / grotto was so fun - and appreciated its beauty after spending the day ay HOWE CAVERNS, as the Scribner Hollow grotto looked like the real thing. It was not dirty, as previous reviewers commented. THe outdoor pool was refreshing, and did not have... More

I will first start off by saying that the place is rustic and could use updating so if you are looking for a 5 star hotel accommodations (especially because of their listed prices), then you should not stay here. We booked our wedding at Scribner Hollow Lodge for a number of reasons. The first being after a conversation with the... More

Worst place I've ever seen...pool littered with dead bugs....steps to pool are like rock climbing...carpenter ants everywhere...no chairs by pool....room is a time capsule of 1970....along with everything else there...would have to pay me to even think about eating there.....and to top it off a naked old man decided to let it all hang out in the grotto....took 30 minutes...
