Thank you to the staff and Park Rangers for keeping the campground clean and orderly. Family campers do not want loud drunk partying people to ruin a family camping trip. The campground is my favorite campground in NYS. The campground is not for partying kids. The fishing is not good; however the pond is very nice.

My family and I spent 3 nights at Mongaup Pond but I think 2 nights is enough. There is not much to do or see outside of Mongaup. I didnt get a lakeview site but it was fine. After the first night, we went to the front desk and they had available lakeview site. We spent the day kayaking. The... More

I felt like I was a prisoner in this place. The rangers running this place think they are FBI Agents, they will stalk you and sit in their little golf carts at your campsite all night just waiting for you to make a sound. They went from campsite to campsite, harassing people and telling them they will be kicked out... More

park rangers have a big attitude, life guard has an attitue also when things don't go there way, and also the person who runs the boat took our privilege away from me and my family when one of my friends fell in the water and he took our privilege an hour before it was time done to ride the boats.

My wife and two children (5 and 7) had a great first camping trip together at Mongaup. My daughter was able to master riding her bike because the layout of the campground was so good for such a thing (one way loop and not too crowded). The site was a bit rockier than I'd have preferred, but not so rocky... More

Before I went there I read all these reviews and decided to give it a try. It was amazing!!! It was quiet and clean there wasn't a whole lot to do but fish, swim, and walk around but that was exactly what I wanted. The staff was great, I made my reservation on the sub-website off the dec.org website and... More

We just came back from Mongaup Pond Campground. The camp is beautiful, however we could not enjoy a bit of it. Rangers were so strict which do not make any sense. We are family of four with two kids. Camp rule is to have only 2 tents per site. We had one tent and two small tents for the kids... More

My wife and I have gone camping at Mongaup Pond for the last four years. We, including our dog love it and the hiking trails. Make sure you bring tarps tie to trees so that your tent and picnic table will stay somewhat dry when it rains. IT WILL RAIN, but that part of what camping is about. Trucks come... More

We have now been camping at Mongaup Pond on two occasions, and both times thought it was lovely. I like the way the campground is spread out so that all the loops feel a bit separate from each other. The lake is lovely, and the perfect size, not too big, nor too small. In early September, the leaves are already... More

We recently stayed at the Mongaup Pond campground for 3 days with a large group of about 16 people. While we enjoyed ourselves a lot, due to the company and beautiful scenery, the level and style of camp enforcement was ultimately excessive and leads me to rate this place only Average. Read on for the details: In preparation we had... More
