At the recommendation of an enthusiastic friend who had stayed there the previous two winters, I booked a room here for the weekend of the mid-winter geocaching events being held over in Long Lake. I was not disappointed—in fact my sister and I were delighted! From the road, the building looked unexciting, but once we opened the front door, we... More

Did not lodge there. Enjoyed a very nice dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. Long Lake is always fun, and the Long View Lodge is worthwhile. Mahi Tune nicely prepared and presented. Good view from dinning area. Will return again!

We stayed here twice in September 2008 - at the start and finish of a canoe trip. The review titles "Keep on driving" is right on the mark. A couple of other minuses at the time - overflowing septic tank in the lawn and a bar that didn't open until 5PM on weekends (Labor Day weekend). This year we stayed... More

My husband and I, along with another couple, rented the two cottages for a trip to view the foliage. The leaves were spectacular!!!! I wish I could say the same about Long View Lodge. When we first drove up to the lodge itself, we were impressed. But driving down to the cottages, our first impression began to fade. The cottages... More

I stayed at the Quackenbush Lodge (aka Long View Lodge) for 3 nights in late August. We were part of a wedding party and had four rooms in total at the lodge. First, this is a motel in the Adirondacks so the hotels here should by nature be a something other than shiny and new. You want old but good.... More

We ended up here when other places were booked. The words "shabby, faded, musty and worn" come to mind. The rooms were clean enough, but charmless. The plumbing was so noisy it scared our kid, and the traffic noise (the lodge is close to the road) kept us awake, not to mention a late cellphone conversation in the hall--those are... More

We booked this reservation by calling the Lodge directly, which was a surprisingly difficult process. We were traveling with another couple and so finally ended up with two rooms with a connecting bath. We had the unfortunate experience of being assigned to Room 15, which was an extremely small room with a very old noisy full-size bed. (Merely sitting down... More

My husband and I had been working in Potsdam and wanted to spend some more time in the Adirondacks. Since we had our 2 dogs with us we needed a hotel that would take them. Also, since it was the weekend after the 4th of July, the Adirondacks were rather crowded. Thanks to our mobile internet service we were able... More

From the opening smell to the stopped up drain to the "oh you wanted a thermostat to control the heat" it was an experience we won't forget. It was quiet, considering the Victorian doors on the room. The shower was clean, but when you drop the soap you have to get out to find it - in other words the... More
