The place & the grounds were well kept, pretty & relaxing. The fire pit behind the cabins is great. Pet stay free which is a big plus. Free continental breakfast. Very close to Phoenicia Main street (less than 5min drive) for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sweet Sue's breakfast especially the pancakes, Brio's breakfast, Lunch & dinner were all good. Mama... More

We were a group of 5 girls from NYC, looking for a nice weekend away. We stayed in 2 cottages. The lodge was absolutely lovely! The grounds were very well maintained. Everything was clean, tidy and super cute! The cottages were very well equipped - you could find everything from broom to bottle opener, mixer and pots. It really felt like... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Phoenicia Lodge. Next time we'll probably stay in the cabin -- the motel room was a big small and didn't have good sound barriers. That being said, it was still very clean and well-maintained and adorable. There was an flatscreen tv with basic cable. Our dvd player didn't work, but we were able to... More

Thanks so much for your great review! Just wanted to note that we are aware of, and do have plans to improve, the soundproofing between the motel rooms (darn 1940s construction). It's a complicated project, but we're nearly ready to wrap our heads around it. Thanks for your (and everyone's) patience as we continue to work through our never-ending to... More

We stayed there in May 2011 for a week and loved it. We stayed in the L-shaped cabin. Our little one was 20 mths & 1 wk old. It was perfect. It was clean, easy to get to and had a pretty backdrop. The owners & their family (as well as their dog) were very friendly. Our cabin had a... More

What a great place! This motel has existed since the 1940's and a lot of things are still the way they were back then, but in a positive way. Yes, the rooms are small, but cosy and charming. We loved every minute of it. The rooms do have everything you need, tv and dvd's (good collection). Breakfast can be obtained... More

This is a very nice lodge. The owners are pleasant and very helpful. We recently stayed there with my siblings and parents. We rented 5 of the cabins and 1 of the motel roms. The property is nice it affords everyone being together, but everyone still has their own place to retreat to. The cabins are clean and very well stocked... More

What a great place to stay! Brian and Sara have restored an old 1940s motel and cottages to (better than!) their original glory. The wood inside is all form local trees. The décor is retro but also clean and modern enough. Indeed even the small motel rooms are clean and comfortable. There's an HD TV in each room and a... More

We were looking for a place to stay near Woodstock. The abundance of pricey B&Bs in Woodstock were not our cup of tea, so we chose the very reasonable and well-located Phoenicia Lodge. Since it was just one night, we booked a motel room, which was small, especially the bathroom. Next time we'll go for a cabin. However, our room... More

I absolutely adore this place. It's my family's favorite upstate getaway. The Espous Creek is in walking distance and great eats at Russ's Country Kitchen close by. Phoenicia Lodge's innkeepers are a cool and hip family. The Lodge is pet friendly and this last visit we took our beagle and had a blast. Let them know in advance you're bringing... More

We stayed for two nights at the Phoenicia Lodge in early August. We stayed in Cabin 3 (which shares a wall with Cabin 2). The cabin itself is very quaint and incredibly clean. The room had a kitchenette and was quite well stocked. We enjoyed hanging out on our porch enjoying the peaceful property. Even though the room didn't have... More
