I stayed here for one night then decided to return at the end of my trip to Zanzibar for 2 more! The owner was great and organised for somebody to walk to the port and meet us to show us the way as it's a bit hidden away. The walk took 5 minutes....even in the pouring rain! We had asked... More

We are really glad you enjoyed your stay and had a good night sleep in one of our king sized beds ;) We are indeed closing for refurbishment and will be retiling all our bathrooms and refurbishing the terrace amongst other things. After a little Trip Advisor searching I selected Warere for a single night stop-over in Stonetown. Shauna - the manager - is professional and helpful: she emailed us advice prior to our arrival and easily accommodated a last minute change in arrivals plans (from ferry to an airport pickup). She also arranged at last minute dinner reservation directly when we... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. Room was clean and spatious, A/C was working perfectly and was not loud at all. Breakfast was fine (fruit, bread butter and jam, eggs, coffee/tea). It was great value for money. Some reviews mention smell of fish from the nearby market. I could smell it briefly when we first got to the room, but... More

We stayed for 3 nights in Warere Town House. We were picked up at the ferry dock by one of the employees, just a 5 minutes walk. The staff is very nice and helpful, also to tell you where to go for dinner or drinks and to arrange trips. Our room was clean, had airconditioning and the breakfast was really... More

Liked it there. Management is excellent, rooms a very tidy, bathrooms little bit small. Breakfast nice! (Good bread, not the one you get everywhere which tastes like 10 day old bread). Price reasonable. Location is hard to find, ask your taxi driver. It is not in the nice part of the city, but you can walk there in 10 minutes... More

I've been staying at Warere for the past 5 years and my experience has always been wonderful until last week. "Customer Service" is something that should not be taken lightly when you are in the hospitality business but the new manager didn't get the memo. The effort it took her to speak to me when I walked in was only... More

Dear JBV J Thank you for your comments. I am sure you will agree that it is unfair to our fully paying guests when others are given hefty discounts. In your case an ex employee, who was filling in temporarily, made a mistake and gave you one of our large balcony rooms at a hefty discount. When you returned, I... More

300 meters from the ferry terminal and 5 minutes from Forodhani gardens and shopping streets, the entrance is a little hidden just behind the Princess Salme Inn, the room was spacious and very clean with a typical four-poster bed, breakfast simple but enough fresh fruit coffee and eggs, very kind and helpful staff. recommended for your stay in Stone Town.... If you could put this hotel 1000yards away from the fish market it would be one of stonetowns best little hotels, unforgivably it wasn't,even with the windows closed the smell of fish was stuck to the curtains in the bathroom[they need to be washed],the location can be quite scary especially at night when waking down those long dark roads,on a... Hi Desking, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay at the Warere as much as you should have. Most of our guests love being located in the real heart of Stone Town where Zanzibaris lead their normal lives, rather than being in the more touristy areas of town. We... More

Lovely small hotel right by the port in Stone Town. We were met by a staff member who walked us to the hotel. Amazingly attentive and helpful staff.
